Lamanok Island, located in the northeast part of Anda, is known for its mysticism and rich history. The Lamanok Island Tour offers a unique experience where visitors can explore ancient caves, view prehistoric paintings, and see a fossilized clam that has been there for thousands of years. Each cave has its own fascinating story to tell, adding depth to the tour.

The island is just a short paddle boat ride from the mainland, where you are accompanied by a boatman and guide throughout your trip. The tour lasts for about two hours, during which you can explore highlights like the Red Hematite Paintings, believed to be over a thousand years old, painted by our ancestors. This adds a sense of connection to the past, enriching the cultural experience of the tour.

One of the key attractions is the Shaman Cave, enveloped in mysticism as it is said to house the spirit of the island. Shamans are believed to visit this cave to restore their healing powers. While accessing the cave may be a bit challenging due to its narrow entrance, the experience is truly worth it. For only P350 per person, this immersive journey is both affordable...

Along the road north of Anda are a few road side signs. You park along the road and hike down some stairs.

400p for a guided tour of the island. Paddle out in a small canoe.

The archeological sites are largely plundered, but you can get some ideas on what was once there. Some pottery, wood and bones are around to give it more of an authentic feel. The hematite paintings are mostly lost, but worth seeing. Island greenery is a treat.

Worth the effort. Looks like it was much nicer before the...

A place steeped in mystery and filled with numerous legends. While it may not be particularly spectacular, it will surely captivate archaeology enthusiasts. The experience is a small adventure in itself: it begins with a pleasant walk through the mangrove, followed by a ride in a traditional local boat, and concludes with an exploration of the island in about an hour. Wearing sturdy footwear is essential to fully enjoy the visit.
