Best way to get here is thru a private car. It is estimated to be 5-7hours (depends on driving skills and time of the day you travel) away from Manila via Baler, Aurora. But I commuted when I came here last March. I took a bus going to Baler (Genesis Bus in Cubao). When you arrive in Baler, go to their public market and you can choose to take a regular bus or a van. I chose to ride a regular bus because it leaves at 7AM. You can ask the driver to drop you off on Dipaculao Beach. It is best to know which resort you will be staying at because it has long coastline. Going there is very straightforward, but going home is hard. There is no bus terminal to go to, you have to wait on the side of the road for a bus to pass by. You may go to their marketplace, and wait for a van going to Baler. But there is no specific time for this. So best to bring your own car. I swear it is worth the drive.
The sand is powder white and the water is blue. Although, the waves can be strong and it could be hard to swim. When I went here, there are only a few people swimming and almost no people on the beach. According the the lady I spoke with, it can get really busy during Holy Week. So better to avoid going here during those times. Accomodations are cheap here, so bringing your family will not burn your pockets. Seafood is cheap and fresh. You can see teenage boys selling crabs, lobsters, shrimp in a motorcycle or you may visit their market as well for fresh fish. It is starting to get famous now to the locals after it was featured in KMJS (Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho), local TV magazine show.
All in all, it is a great place to visit with family and friends. Great escape away from...
Read moreMy father is originally from here and I've been visiting every summer since I was a child. However, I decided to move permanently because the beaches are breathtaking and unforgettable I always miss them when I go back to the city. I'm working comfortably at home and any time I can go outside and relax. I can say that moving here is one of the few good things I've done in my life. The locals are very welcoming, so much so that I already consider myself one of them in just a few short months! I really hope many people will start visiting our place, you'll have a lot of options to choose from. The beach resorts here are amazing, from the views to the people you will encounter. Have a safe trip and...
