Balanga Wetland and Nature Park — Attraction in Balanga

Nice place. Nice folks around. The place is clean but not well-maintained.

There is not much to see, just for people like me who want to have something different to visit.

They close for the day at 5pm. If you wish to take a look, take note of the open hours. The caretakers were kind and accommodated us still and let us roam even if it's 4:45pm already. So there travel was worth it somehow.

We were unable to check the mini museum though.

As of this time, the walkway by the mangroves hasn't been completed yet and I guess we'll have to wait and see if the local government will complete the project. It would have been a great completion.

The place has this typical creepy atmosphere, like that of blairwitch project and the likes. The pungent smell, the salty breeze, the sounds of the creatures (birds of course, and then some more), is like a Jurassic park movie soundtrack.

It's good that it exists, but it looks like it is suffering from that age old problem- It was a great idea when proposed, but no one thought much about future maintenance and upkeep. The facilities are somewhat rundown. (01/2023) There is more trash in the mangrove area than can be explained by natural in-wash, overgrowth blocking the viewing platforms, steps a bit dangerously falling apart, etc. Perhaps at the right time of day and right migration season, this area could be something special. But right now, it's just a place to get out of the city for a short while. Oh, and of course the "foreigner pricing" for entry doesn't help it's reputation. 10 pesos for locals and 50 pesos for foreigners. No, it's still not...

it would be great if all provinces had an area similar to what balanga bataan has, it would be awesome if there were organisations like young bean were also active in caring for the environment, i really hope they can get more support from other organisations to help them with their cause. this place is well maintained, and it is a good place to go to if you're a nature lover. the sunrise and sunset is also spectacular from here. find time to contribute in helping to save the environment or help it heal in that sense, it doesn't have to be in this kind of place, you can start at your homes and...
