Read moreA Solemn place for worship. Has a difficult elevated driveway going in the place. Parking is limited inside but along the road parking is allowed. Entrance fee is for charity. There are two chapels; one is The Sacred Heart of Jesus going up in the wide cement stairs. Overlooking from the top is a vast garden and the set of carillion bells in which the chimes sounds like the heaven is on earth. The second chapel is The Mary Mediatrix of all graces, situated at the far end after the lines of promenades with the statues of the apostles. It has a centered fountain with little angels. There are clean comfort rooms which has a fee for maintenance and a souvenir shop. A rosary bracelet costs 500 pesos each and can be written with a dedication. In order to get to the Way of the Cross, one will need to walk through the extensive garden. There is a cave with the Santo Entierro with a small garden outside and a flowing water with statue of angels playing and live fishes swimming on the mini pond. It is also the place where you can light a candle to pray. A great place to find peace and if it works then one might have their faith back...
Read moreWe visited this place during holy week and as expected there were a lot of other visitors at that time but i think it was still worth the visit. The chapel is small but beautiful and the surrounding area is picturesque. There is a station of the cross which takes you on a winded path along what seems to be a small hill (so wear comfortable shoes). There are larger than life size statues for each of the stations. Suggest you bring lots of water, umbrella and a fan since it can get hot especially if you'll be there late noon. Near the chapel, there are also gardens, angiant rosary and nice landscape that looks like ruins and lined statues of saints which overall gives a feeling of serenity.
The chapel is very easy to find as it is along the main road and we were able to park in the adjacent lot that was turned into a parking lot during that time, not sure though on regular days. There are also some resorts near the place in case you need to spend the night. There are also nearby churches to visit in the town...
