The Basco Rolling Hills in Batanes are a surreal landscape straight out of a dream. I recently explored this natural wonder, and it left me in awe of Mother Nature’s artistry.
The rolling hills stretch as far as the eye can see, blanketed in vibrant shades of green. It’s like a vast, undulating sea of grass that seems to go on forever. The gentle slopes create an almost hypnotic effect, making you want to frolic in the meadows like a carefree child.
The scenery here is a photographer’s paradise. Every angle offers a new and captivating view, making it nearly impossible to take a bad picture. I found myself snapping away, trying to capture the essence of this breathtaking landscape.
One of the most remarkable aspects of the Basco Rolling Hills is the feeling of solitude it provides. Despite being a popular tourist spot, it’s easy to find a quiet spot to reflect and connect with nature. The tranquility of the hills is something you won’t soon forget.
Visiting during the early morning or late afternoon is a must. The soft, golden light casts long shadows and adds a touch of magic to the already enchanting scenery. Plus, the cooler temperatures make for a more comfortable experience.
While the Basco Rolling Hills are a true gem, I did encounter a downside during my visit. The strong winds can make it a bit challenging to enjoy a leisurely picnic, so be prepared for some gusty conditions. However, this is a minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things.
In conclusion, the Basco Rolling Hills are a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and anyone seeking a peaceful escape. The picturesque beauty of this place is simply mesmerizing, and it offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the serene landscapes of Batanes. Don’t forget your camera, and be ready to be transported to a world of rolling green hills and...

Wear a scarf on your hair to keep it from being swept in different directions and spoil your shots. Wear eye protector to save your eyes from dust and dirt that go with the wind. The hills are home to cows, carabaos, horses, goats and even chickens that are naturally raised and give them flavorful meats locals and tourists love. There is a concrete road going to the place so tourists can easily acess it either by car or by foot. Worth visiting for a fresh...
Read more22 Sep 2024. My Northern Tour started around 2pm and this was the fourth destination. From here, you will see blue ocean to the north and the west, more rolling hills to the south, and Mt. Iraya to the east. According to my guide, most of the hills are brown during the summer because of the heat, so I am glad to have visited in the rainy months during this rainy part of the year. And with this much greenery, the cows that dot the hills happily grazing are an even nicer thing to see. I prefer to call this Vayang Rolling Hills as that is what I saw in the signs in my post-tour...
