We heard this was a moderate hiking area with the trail tourist-friendly and hiking time less than an hour. But maybe the recent typhoons eroded the soil and some parts of the trail became too steep and challenging. Nevertheless, we made it to the top after a few slides, falls, screams, scratches and laughs at how angled some trail parts were. The view was well worth all the effort. As someone who's lived in the same town most years of my life, it's amazing to have a 360°view of all the barangays surrounding the mountain. We came here near sunset and looking at the west philippine sea at around 5pm 259meters above sea level was amazing. We hiked from the palugsi-limansangan trail but I heard there were other trails so maybe we'll try those next time. Don't stay too long at the top as you watch the sunset because we did that mistake and hiked down using flashlights it was a horror movie but we loved that.

I did a solo hike from Baung. You can follow the signs for a certain distance. I rode a bicycle but you can drive to the beginning of the foot trail. When you get to the old basketball court you make a left on the trail. The footpath is pretty well worn but my suggestion is just keep heading up. Few twists and turns on the way. Definitely wear some good walking shoes. You should be in fairly decent shape to make this hike. The trail was a little muddy on the day I went from the rains the day before. I started my adventure as soon as it got light out at about 5:30 a.m. and I was back home by 10:30.

didnt expect that ill be hiking in la union haha i just saw this on the internet parking was convenient at the court beside the barangay hall, and there was no need for registration. the trail itself offered a unique adventure. no signage at all so it added to the excitement of discovery. we had fun moments deciding between paths, making the hike more interactive and engaging. it took us around an hour with 2 breaks in between because it’s kinda slippery and hard to climb since it rained the day before overall, this is a great option for those seeking an off-the-beaten-path adventure.
