One of Cordillera's hidden wonder 💚 Sulfur Spring - Bokod, Benguet.

Sulfur is naturally produced where vapours from volcanoes and mineral waters are present. Historically and in literature sulfur is also called brimstone, which means "burning stone". Although natural sulfur is generally foul-smelling, Sulfur helps dry out the surface of your skin to help absorb excess oil that may contribute to acne breakouts. It also dries out dead skin cells to help unclog your pores.

This site is still NOT OPEN to the public. However, you can pass by outside the spring and you'll still be able to see the steam of sulfur gas from the main road. Please coordinate with Bokod Municipal Tourism office if you want to visit. But for now... You can add it on your Benguet Bucketlist 😉

A few minutes away from Bokod Central, this tourist spot has been improved with fenced walkways, ladders and safety fences surrounding the literally boiling sulfur spring. Conveniently located along the road so parking space is very limited.

There is an entrance fee of 75PHP per visitor, and donations only if you are a resident of the immediate community.

One spot just a few steps away from the boiling site is a muddy pool where people can dip into the warm “mud” which is claimed to have healing properties especially for skin conditions.

Have not seen a rinsing station, but there’s a washroom near the entrance to the spring.

The “rotten egg” odour of course is very apparent like any other...

This unusual tourist attraction in Bokod is one for the books. It is a popular side trip if you came from Mount Pulag. The boiling natural sulfur emits a foul smell but the place is just stunning. It is one of its kind in the Cordilleras. As of this writing, the place has been barricaded and claimed to be a private property. We just sneaked in to experience the place even for just a...

Interesting place for a short stop over after or before climbing Mt Pulag. It is a short detour from the main road. Admission fee is 75 PHP for adults and 50 PHP for students. 15 minutes is enough to see this attraction unless one wants to soak his or her feet in the sulfur mud. This place is open from 8 am to 5 pm (Monday to Saturday) and 9 am to 4 pm (Sunday).
