Title: Some years before it was better. I am not recommending this place the other Tarsier viewing place is better.
You can see some Tarsier and get some Infos about and you can make some photos
o Why I write it was better before? I was here now the third time, the last time I was before covid here and it get worse and worse. Here are the points...
Entrance fee is 150 php its expensive than before but no development, even if you want to come from the main street there is still a broken unpaved subsection. No maintenance inside the building nothing new it's like still 5 years before.
After paying the cashier, she say that you must go to the video room to show a video, only this information nothing more. In the educational video they give you some informations about Tarsiers and how you must act. Ok, nice but after the education video a guide is waiting for you and speaks strangely if you watched all the video... but he does not introduce himself before and after... that he is the guide. So why we must watch a video if there is a guide with you he can give a short briefing? It's more personally and the people are more willing to give a tip after am I wrong?
The best is coming now. The guide bring you in the Tarsier area... long story short... You will see maybe 3 Tarsiers make some photos some videos you will not walk more than 30m in max 15 minutes the show is over and you are back again in the building where everything began. So the areal is usually big, but you have no chance to explore, you must follow the guides and the guides shows you what they want how much they want to you.
I know the last time every person or couple or group has their own guide. Today they put me with a Filipino couple together and the guide talked their Filipino language I didn't get any info only the question if he should make a photo with my phone.
No development, the inside of the building the informations are the same like years before. Nothing new comes additionally and the show boxes where you can see the bones of a Tarsier and insects that Tarsiers eating needs urgently maintance. A Cafe would be nice there but it's seems like they don't investing in new things or are willing to make something better. That's now the reality a bad review...
Explanation of my votings

Read moreWe visited the corella sanctuary today, Major concerns regarding the animal welfare at this corella sanctuary. -the group numbers are far too large. There must have been at least 20 people huddled around a tree at a time trying to push in and take photos and videos of the ‘sleeping’ tarsiers which had no chance of sleeping with the amount of noise the group was making, who were all instructed to be silent upon entering through the trees. -the keepers, although seemed caring towards the animals, were also naively making excessive noise and were pushing cameras approximately a foot away from the tarsiers’ faces -we seen 4 tarsiers in total. Only one seemed to be asleep. The other three were trying to reposition themselves, as if they weren’t settled in their sleep -it felt like a bit of a conveyor belt of people entering the trees, one large group after another every 15 minutes or so
Suggestions for improvement: -tourists want to come and see tarsiers no matter the cost once travelling to bohol; charge a little more for tickets and have it as a ‘pre-purchased ticket only’ entry, this way you can control the quantity of people who want to see the tarsiers by allocating smaller groups of possibly 6 people per tour. This way the keepers can maintain a bit more peace and the smaller group can be more respectful. Consequently, the tarsiers can have the respect and peace they deserve, in comparison to the current state of affairs with larger groups, which in all honesty feels like a money making conveyor at the expense of the...

I visited the Tarsier Sanctuary in Bohol expecting a peaceful, conservation-focused environment, but unfortunately, it felt much more like a zoo than a true sanctuary. The experience left me disappointed and honestly a bit heartbroken.
Tarsiers are incredibly shy, nocturnal animals that are highly sensitive to noise and stress, yet they are put on display for streams of tourists during the day. Visitors are led along a short path where tarsiers are pointed out by guides, often perched in the open on low-hanging branches for easy viewing. It felt staged, as if the animals were placed there for our convenience. Despite the "no flash" and "keep quiet" signs, it was clear that many people weren’t following these rules, and staff weren’t actively enforcing them.
These creatures are known to become severely stressed by human contact, sometimes to the point of self-harm, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that the environment was doing more harm than good. If this is supposed to be a sanctuary, the primary concern should be the well-being of the animals—not the photo ops.
If you're an animal lover or care about ethical wildlife tourism, I’d recommend thinking twice before visiting. There are better ways to support conservation efforts than contributing to what feels like a stressful and unnatural existence for these beautiful,...
