This place was supposed to be a Historical landmark of the City as they are also claiming that Magellan landed first in Masao, Butuan and not not in Limasawa. The Goveenment totally neglected this very historical landmark, a treasure one of a kind. Videoke house lined up.both sides of the landmark, drinking bars, tudlo luto kainan were also there. What was worst was that the people who frequented the area seemed not to care anymore about this place. When you ask the locals they are just like not interested anymore of the reason why this landmark was put up in the first place. You cannot see their eagerness to talk about this piece of history. I hope that the City Government of Butian will develop.this place worthy of a tourist attaction with walking tours about the landmark. They can put up a baywalk and remove all those structures within the 20.meters from the seaahore to bring back the setback. Give those vendors a place in one stretch get funding from DTI, DOT and even involve the private sector to help...

Although the area was reasonably clean, the statues were in disarray. One of the statue's arms has broken off, and the others are just neglected. Sad. Besides that, the area offers good swimming, sheltered eating for family events, and even low-budget accommodation—street food vendors plenty. The air is filled with BBQ smells, making one hungry for the excellent food the vendors offer. If you're coming for a visit, then the historical site is the least attractive. Locals visit to swim and have good food.

We came on a Sunday, which was pretty busy—plenty of kids in the calm waters. Just watch out for solid offshore currents...

For an important historical space, this place is in utter sorry state. It is neglected and has not been given the dignity it deserves. It can make you cry. Dirty, neglected and seems not very muched valued of. The repairs done to the worn-out parts was so shoddily made, it looked like McDonald's boots. Paints are already faded, and walls have strong stench of urine. If this is intended to be a counterpart to Limasawa's this must be fixed and given value. To avoid being disappointed, it is better to savor the breeze in the beach just a couple of meters away.
