Who would have guessed that the famous rice terraces of Banaue has a smaller version here in Bohol? Though smaller in scale, the rice terraces of Cadapdapan provide a glimpse into the ingenuity of Filipino farmers without having to travel all the way to Cordillera. The intricate patterns of the paddies, carved into the rolling hills, evoke a sense of wonder and make you appreciate the artistry of nature and human hands combined.
The site features several viewpoints that provide breathtaking panoramic views. As you take in the scenery, breathe in the fresh air and admire the intricacy of the irrigation system. After capturing photos, take a moment to pause and appreciate the tranquility and soothing sounds of nature surrounding you.
The terraces are well-maintained, and for only P30, you gain access not only to the rice terraces but also to the nearby Can-umantad Falls, a magnificent waterfall just below. To reach it, simply descend the 400 steps, and don't hesitate to ask the friendly locals for assistance.
A tip for visitors: hire a habal-habal at Lungsodaan Market for an overall fare of P250, which covers both...
Read moreSuch a beautiful place to connect with nature! As a Filipino living in Manila, I realized how blessed I am when I met the people living around the terraces! I really felt emotional upon leaving the place. They are all so welcoming and humble… wish I could help them someday so elevate the tourism there. there’s a 100 peso tour guide fee! That’s nothing compared to what they have to go through to tour us around. Give more if you are able. They are one of the nicest people you’ll meet in all of the Philippines! This place is not advisable with kids and with senior citizens. But i brought my 2 year old with me. Took us almost an hour to reach the summit! If you are coming here with friends and family and dont feel like trekking, you can come to Eleuterio Restaurant and you’ll get a panoramic view of the terraces. There’s a nearby waterfalls. You have to visit there also! The stairs going to the falls from Eleuterio is around 400 steps. The view is breath-taking! And the falls have at least 7 pools where you can...
Read moreWe came here with a car and in the village before this location you get stopped and asked to pay a fee. The fee is 30pesos for the waterfall, but the rice terraces are public and for free. However they offer you a guide for 100pesos to walk with you up to the view point (no clue if you can go by yourself). We were here on a rainy day and it was quite muddy and slippery, so good shoes are a must. You also walk between the terraces on the water canals, so good balance is a plus. They also offered a motorbike to drive us to and from the waterfall 100pesos per person. We took it as it was very rainy. However, it's also possible to ride to the waterfall by yourself if you have a motorbike and there are also some stairs somewhere you can walk down to...
