A Grand and Expansive Safari Experience in Carmen - Plan Ahead!
Visiting Cebu Safari & Adventure Park in Carmen is definitely a full-day commitment, primarily due to the significant travel time (often 2+ hours each way) from Cebu City, but it truly delivers an impressive and grand-scale wildlife experience that feels unique in the Philippines. The sheer size of the park – a sprawling 170 hectares set against a beautiful, lush mountainous backdrop – is striking from the start. The Highlights: Scale and Habitats: This feels less like a traditional zoo and more like a vast nature reserve. What really stands out is the effort put into the animal enclosures; they are generally spacious, well-designed to mimic natural environments, and clearly prioritize the animals' welfare. It's refreshing to see animals like giraffes and zebras roaming in large, open savanna-style areas. Memorable Animal Encounters: The variety is fantastic. Watching the tigers was particularly captivating – seeing them actively playing, rolling on the grass, and patrolling their spacious habitat felt very special. We also really enjoyed encountering the llamas and the surprisingly calm capybaras. The walk-through aviary was fantastic, allowing for close views of various colourful bird species in a more immersive setting. Experiences: The guided Safari Ride offers great perspectives. And definitely don't miss the bird show – it was incredibly well-done, entertaining, informative, and featured some beautiful and intelligent birds in action. Of course, seeing the majestic lions, including the unique white lions (viewed via their specific safari ride), is another major highlight. Activities like giraffe feeding (if you opt for it) provide a wonderful interactive moment too. Things to Consider (Why 4 Stars, Not 5): Logistics, Physicality & Accessibility: Be prepared! The park's size means a LOT of walking, often on inclined paths, and Cebu's heat can be intense. Comfortable footwear, hats, and staying hydrated are crucial. While standard internal transport (trams/safari vehicles) connects major zones, significant walking is still involved. Important note on accessibility: For groups with senior citizens or those with mobility concerns, there's an option to book a private van (for an additional fee) to help navigate the park's vast distances between areas. However, it's crucial to know that most of the park itself, including many viewing paths and access to specific exhibits, is not wheelchair-friendly. Even with the van service between main points, navigating the actual viewing areas may still be challenging for those with significant mobility limitations. Also, factor in the considerable travel time (2+ hours each way from Cebu City) and plan your return transport, especially if using public options, as getting back later can be tricky. Arriving right at the opening time (around 8 AM) is highly recommended. Cost: It's a pricey day out. The entrance fee is ₱1100 per adult on weekdays and ₱1300 on weekends and holidays. On-site food and drinks come at typical attraction markups, with meal prices generally ranging from around ₱150 to ₱400, depending on the outlet and dish. Consider packing some water and snacks to manage costs. Adventure Park rides and the private van service also incur separate charges. Crowds/Wait Times: Especially on weekends or holidays, expect crowds and potential waiting times for the internal transport or popular animal viewing areas/shows. Overall: Despite the cost and the need for logistical planning (especially regarding travel, heat, walking, and accessibility limitations), Cebu Safari & Adventure Park offers an exceptional and memorable experience. The scale of the park, the quality of the animal habitats, the diverse collection of wildlife – particularly getting to see active tigers, llamas, capybaras, and the...

My experience on Cabu Safari and Adventure Park was unforgetable. Cebu Safari is the Philippine's premier safari park. It was my first time seeing giraffe, tigers, cheetahs, orangutan, and many more. As of now, it's my happiest flora and fauna experience. The place was so big, there are thousands of animal species which i just now encounter. The staffs are friendly and approachable, plus they greet you alot with a smiling face. Overall, Cebu Safari is an organized place perfect for people of all ages.
Cebu Safari and Adventure Park is open wednesday to sunday 8 am to 5pm. They are also open on holidays. As of August 2018 Entrance fee is 800php and doesnt include meals anymore. 800 entrance is still worth it though.
Restaurants are scattered all over the place. If you are too tired to walk they have trams available. They also have shuttles.
I suggest you go to african savanna first as it closes at 3pm and the queue gets long specially on weekends.
At the moment they have 10 bengal tigers. 8 orange tigers and 2 whites which is a male and a female. Currently, they only allow the male white tiger for viewing as the female one is still adapting to our environment. All the orange tigers are available for viewing though. Tiger turf schedules the viewing like 2 hrs for white tigers and 2 hours for orange tigers. However, that would depend on the tiger, a staff told me that even if its time already for the orange tigers and the white tigers have not yet returned to their quarter, the animal caretaker would not release the orange tigers for viewing as they cant force the animals to go back to their quarters.
They have 10 lions but sadly, for now, they are still not available for viewing as they too are still adapting to our climate and environment.
There are 2 bird shows on sundays, the schedule are at 10:45 and 1:45.
The atv ride is now open with rates: 300 for 15mins 500 for 30 mins 700 for 45 mins
Lastly, Cebu safari provides van service to and from the theme park. The cost is 100 per person per way. In Carmen, they park at the plaza. There is no schedule it depends on the passenger count. Habal habal are also avaioable which cost 140 per habal habal.
I will definitely...
