Well worth the drive and hike, oh, and the registration and guide fee. There is a signage from the main road by a petrol station that signals the access road to the EcoAdventure Park center and it is only a short drive up along a concrete but narrow road with a gentle incline mostly consisting of rolling hills. Upon arrival, there is adequate parking space for about 5-10 vehicles and there is a well maintained center where you are able to register and avail of the services of a local guide (required), as well make use of the toilet and changing rooms. After which, 100+ steps of concrete steps lead down to a 15-20 minutes, 2/9 difficulty, hike along a little tricky and mostly wet trail where you will at times be submerged up to the waist. I recommend not putting any valuables (more so electronics) in your pockets and wearing foot wear and clothes ready to be soaked in water. The trail covers basic terrain, river crossings and little cliffs that are now barricaded by bamboo barriers for your leverage and safety. Eventually, you will reach the falls which consists of a big pool, with a maximum depth of 7ft, where the waterfall lands and a secondary mini-infinity pool, great for photo shoots. These are all accessible by a very slippery rock formation, but concrete rubble are placed for easier footholds. The place does not accommodate a lot of people though so it's best enjoyed with a group of few people and even fewer "other" people. :D All in all, a very good and worthwhile experience! Be extra careful on the way back and on...
Read moreVisited many waterfalls in Cebu, unfortunately this one stands out for the wrong reasons. When you arrive you are quickly hearded into a table area where you are (quite rudely) told to pay the entrance fee of 200pesos per person, (more than other waterfalls on the island ) plus a parking feee of 50 peso. For this waterfall you are forced to have a guide. Even if you insist you don't need / want one, they will become aggressive towards you if you ask to walk alone ( I was surrounded by a large group when I said I didn't need a guide - felt like I would be lynched if I didn't just pay) . Even though the path is clear and easy to follow and a guide is completely useless, despite this, they wil lmake a guide go with of you, the guide just walks in front of you. The guide begged for tips, from the beginning, which made the whole experience uncomfortable. Walking time to main fall is about 15 minutes. The waterfall itself is nice. Especially one section on the walk that looks like a natural waterslide. Pool under main waterfall is not deep, about half a metre. Colour is a nice shade of blue, typical of waterfalls in the area. 1 star only because even though the waterfall is nice, unfortunately the management/ people collecting money and compulsory guide ruin an otherwise ...
Read moreThe waterfall and the whole canyon and hike are extremely beautiful and it's certainly worth a visit! The entrance fee includes a life jacket, helmet and water shoes, which are really helpful. I'm only giving this place 3 starts to the the whole guide policy here. When you pay the entrance fee, you can see what's included - a guide is one of those things, he gets some % of the fee you pay. Despite that, our guide kept asking for tips as we were approaching the end of our trek. We didn't give him anything. For the whole time he just kept walking in front of us and didn't say a word. I think he didn't even speak English at all... If I'm supposed to pay for a guide, let alone give him tips on top of that, I expect some value. As other reviews mention, the guide is completely useless since the path is well marked and very clear right from the start. You will get wet along the way to...
