An excellent hike for those who are nature lover. Experience the wonder and feel the ambiance of the silence from nature. A high class destination like you found in other country, but hey this beautiful scenery is located here in La Palmera Mountain Ridge in Columbio, Suldat Kudarat. You can hike in the day, or stay overnight and experience the mountain to yourself when you wake up in the morning. It is a breathtaking scenario with a cup of coffee in your hand while no tourist yet. Yes, you cam have the mountain by yourself by booking in advance and you will have to rest in their small cottage infront of the ridge. Please don't forget to bring your friends and enjoy. Aside from the mountain ridge, you will have the opportunity to check out hidden beautiful fall still in Columbio. Will have a blog on my trip going there from booking of the cottage to the transportation and most specially the affordable budget you need to prepare. Will add the link in my bio.

Thank you La Palmera for...

Breath taking view. View-tiful indeed. The lush green color you'll see from palms on the road to the mountain ridges are just so relaxing to the eyes that it's worth the hours of travelling and a little bit of bumpy roads. It took us 2 and a half hours travel time from Davao up to this beautiful place. We took the Matan-ao route going to colombio and crossed 2 rivers! The first river is manageable for a first timer driver to drove off the road. But for the second river which is just a few kilometers from La Palmera, we decided to take the habal habal - a local term for motorcycle for hire. 4x4 vehicles will be your best choice if you take the Matan-ao route going to Colombio (where La Palmera is located) just ask the locals for directions as some areas are out of signal. And please, always bring your trash with you. Let's not destroy the beauty of God's creation by throwing our...

A mountain ridge resort located above a palm tree plantation that offers spectacular view of the green mountains of the Columbio Plains. The park at the top is a nice picnic place with a stuffed store of basic snack foods. Entrance to the park is around 50 PHP, that includes the local environmental fee. There are road signs visible along the Columbio main town leading to the park. The road leading to the park is very challenging and mostly dirt roads with big boulders. Recommend to bring a 4x4 transport and if not possible, don't attempt to go up with a sedan, instead park the sedan car downhil and take motorized transport to the top. Access to the part is restricted during the rainy season as the small streams in the road can burst suddenly thereby blocking the roads. Recommend to check local road/flood advisory before coming. Parking at the mountain top park is limited and...

The 4 hours drive from General Santos City (due to rough roads), was worth it. This was one of my travels that I will never forget. Cars can go up high but only the brave ones can pass tbrough the rocky, uneven roads through the ridge. 4x4 is highly advisable. Small cars like sedan and hatchback can leave their cars at the Brgy Hall and take Habal Habal for 50 pesos one way. It will take you the ridge itself. Blaans, the tribes that oversee and protect the natural wonders, are really courteous and very welcoming. They greeted us with full smiles as we were the only guests that time. Just me and my friend. What a treat right?😊 We shouted at the ridges releasing our frustrations and hoping that we can bounce back from life's battle. Aysesss. 😅 Truly, an experience to have. Book it now! Now na! Char! 😅
