Your visit in Maguindanao will be incomplete if you haven't visited the Grand Mosque of Cotabato.

Donated by the Ruler of Sultanate of Brunei Darussalam Sultan Haji Bolkiah, this Islamic Center of Worship gives the locals an unwavering hope and faith to Allah, as they pray for the eternal peace, which has been elusive since time immemorial.

For Non-Islamic Tourist Visitors, prepare to rent Islamic garments which should be worn while going around the mosque. They strictly observe reverence in dress code, as well as being modest and careful in talking while staying in their Holy Grounds.

Men and women are praying separately so kindly observe the right of passage to which door should you enter if allowed to go inside after their prayer hours.

During Pandemic, I think they have reduced the number of churchgoers as well as tourists who wish to take a glimpse of what's inside the glorious mosque of Cotabato- a landmark of peace and calm amidst the violence that Mindanao has seen through the decades.

May the LGU and Administrators of this mosque act swiftly in restoring the facilities within the temple as there are some places that can't be used properly due to repairs...

If you want to see majestic architecture, the Grand mosque is certainly one to visit. At the time of writing (April 2023) the place is undergoing work still. You can see some of that in the photos. Getting here is a bit complicated, because there are no direct buses or vans that stop here. If using public transport, you'll need to get at the nearby town (Bubong) and get a tricycle/payong to get you here. Getting back will basically be the same, but there may be a bit more waiting involved since there often aren't enough tricycles near the mosque. The mosque itself is quite impressive. It is definitely worth visiting and experiencing first hand. What makes it even more worth a visit and the hassle, because frankly, it is a bit of a hassle to get here using public transport - habal or car is the easiest option. Anyways, what makes this place even more appealing is the scenery. While getting there, you'll get to see some breathtaking scenery. All in all, a great place to...

The mosque's stunning architecture transports you to another world, with its intricate design and serene ambiance leaving a lasting impression. We visited right after the 6 PM prayer, which made the atmosphere even more peaceful and tranquil.

If you're planning a visit, it's important to observe the proper dress code. Women should wear a hijab as a sign of respect for local customs. The beauty and tranquility of the Grand Mosque are truly unmatched, making it a must-see for anyone interested in exploring the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of Cotabato.
