Tiklas Falls is one of the best and most well-known tourist spot of Gingoog City located in Brgy. Lawit. It is in the Province of Misamis Oriental in Mindanao Island and is situated in the southern part of the Philippines. Tiklas Falls was developed by the local government and is managed for tourist to visit. It is 9 km.away from the city proper and 350 meters walk to reach the actual spot. The area is surrounded by the green beauty of nature as you would love to see the wild herbs, edible plants and some ornamental flora planted in the walk-side of the road. You would feel the cold winds as soon as you get through the concrete bridge where you can see the perfect drop of the waterfalls and take photographs. There are also swimming pools for adults and children with the falls on its background and cottages for rent 50-100 pesos only. TiklasFalls5 The entrance Fee is 20 Pesos for Adult and 10 Pesos for children 12 years and below. There are no business establishments or food stalls near the area so tourists must bring their own foods and drinks. To ensure the safety and security of the tourists, no one is allowed to swim at the foot of the falls since the power waterfalls and it’s current may cause accidents and injuries. The best time to visit the resort is from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. There are no accommodations in the area so you have to go back to the city proper if you’re planning to spend a night in Gingoog. TiklasFalls2 TiklasFalls3 How to get there: If you have your own car and coming from any part of Mindanao just look for the signage of Tiklas Falls in crossing Malubog- east of the city proper and 5 minutes travel. From CDO: Ride in a bus bound to Gingoog City or Butuan City. Travel time from Cagayan de Oro is 3-4 hours. Tell the driver to drop you in crossing Malubog going to Tiklas Falls- anyway big tarpaulin showing the direction going to the location of the falls is displayed at crossing. If your coming from Gingoog City proper, ride in a “habal-habal” or single motor going to the Entrance of Tiklas Falls. Fare is around 100-150 pesos (hired). From Butuan City: Ride in a bus bound to Cagayan de Oro. Travel is 2-3 hours. Tell the driver to drop you in crossing Malubog or crossing going to Tiklas Falls. Feel Relaxed and Enjoy your trip with this gift of nature, Tiklas Falls Resort, one should visit.

Our experience was near perfect! We went there while raining so when we arrived, we'rethe only ones to enjoy the hidden paradise. The falls is breathtakingly beautiful and amazing! They also have a pool so if you opted not to dive beneath the falls. Warning: The current is too strong. Youmay stay away from the water below if you must

Tiklas Falls is under rehabilitation, but the place is still very peaceful and surrounded by nature. Hoping it reopens soon! It's a great spot to relax, take photos, and enjoy the fresh air. Can’t wait to see the improvements!

My younger brother died in that place iyear 2012. The place is not safe. He drowned where the falls drop the water, the water current was strong, it brought my brother to the bottom. The management did not have divers with oxygen to rescue my brother from the bottom of water. My parents had to call help from the city to get my brother from the bottom of the falls after an hour. Management did not do anything to help. Be careful...

One of the most accessible waterfalls in Northern Mindanao, with Fairly Affordable entrance and parking fee, along with fairly priced cottage rates, on of the best destinations to cool down in Gingoog City. The location still lacks development, yet it has a promising future. The place is fairly maintained by the LGU of Gingoog City but no further plans as of the moment to...
