JAKKA is a nice beach resort to stay in when you plan to roam around Governor Generoso for a couple of days. I find their rates reasonable - both the lodging and the food.
Staff: The staff are very friendly. Some youngsters are working in the resort and they are all friendly and accommodating. However, don't expect them to be professionally trained and compare them from fancier beach resorts. We asked them were we could buy fish, directions for this and that - they answered our random inquiries well. (10/10)
Lodging: Its okay for the price. It is not on the level of fancy beach resorts, more in the "inato" level of beach resorts so don't get your expectations too high. We paid a total of 4,300+ for five people for an overnight stay on one of their airconditioned lodging. It was a two-storey cottage wherein the bedroom is on the second floor, bathroom and dining area at the ground floor. Sheets and beddings appear to be clean and fresh. The entrance to the hut had very steep stairs, my senior citizen dad found it difficult to climb. The place is not wheelchair friendly just in case you have seniors coming with you. (7/10)
Food: Their menu is very limited. They have four breakfast options (-silog meals). It is reasonably priced. Their rice serving is huge, one cup seems to be from a massive bowl. We had their pancit and adobong pusit, both are delicious, squid was fresh and cooked firmly. Their food is okay, a very typical pinoy menu - kinilaw, sugba, pancit, adobo. Nothing fancy but reasonably priced. (8/10)
Beach: The beach is okay, white sand and not rocky. However, if you prefer seeing fishes and corals and go snorkeling, you might need to go way further. There's a natural breakwater (rocks) probably 15-20 meters away from the shore. During high tide, you'd walk 10 meters further from the shore and it is still shallow. Its good for kids and people that do not like swimming in deep waters but you can't see fishes and creatures when you snorkel nearby the shore. (8/10)
Other notable things: Cape San Agustin is 20 minutes away by car from this place. There are fishermen that would pass by selling freshly caught fish in the morning. We bought a large Talakitok for 260/kilo. Bring icebox with you if you want to buy cheap fresh fish. We haven't tried asking if we can have the resort kitchen cook it for us. There are no network signal - smart, globe, DITO. Resort does have internet WiFi but its not free, you need to buy for a voucher which costs 20 pesos for an hour of internet. There are NO VIDEOKES in the resort and nearby. It was quiet when we stayed there which we prefer. I think they only allow videokes if you rent the entire resort. There are friendly cats...
