I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Bucari Pine Forest in Leon, Iloilo, and it was truly a rejuvenating experience. Nestled amidst the lush landscapes, this enchanting forest offers a tranquil haven for nature enthusiasts and weary souls alike.
From the moment I entered, I was captivated by the crisp, invigorating air that filled my lungs. The towering pine trees create an awe-inspiring canopy, casting dappled sunlight onto the forest floor. The scent of pine needles wafts through the air, instantly transporting you to a world of tranquility.
I couldn't help but lose myself in the network of well-maintained trails that wind their way through the forest. Each path leads to a new discovery, whether it's a hidden clearing perfect for a picnic or a secluded spot by a babbling brook. The sound of running water adds a soothing soundtrack to the entire experience.
One of the highlights of my visit was the breathtaking panoramic view from the hilltop. After a moderately challenging hike, I was rewarded with an unobstructed vista of rolling hills and valleys shrouded in mist. The feeling of standing amidst such natural beauty was truly humbling.
The Bucari Pine Forest is also a haven for birdwatchers and photography enthusiasts. The diverse avian population adds a touch of vibrancy to the serene surroundings, making it a paradise for capturing stunning shots of nature at its finest.
Whether you're seeking solitude, a romantic escape, or a chance to reconnect with loved ones, the Bucari Pine Forest offers it all. Just make sure to pack some essentials, like insect repellent and sturdy footwear, to fully enjoy your time here.

Read moreThis is my first visit in Bucari, i heard alot of beautiful stories about this place. They said it is called the "Iloilo's Little Baguio" because of the cold temperature of the place and I must say indeed it is. The tall and beautiful pines welcomes us. This is a very nice place to relax, unwind and commune with nature. They have cottages and a multi-purpose hall, they have public comfort rooms and showers. The way to Mt. Mansiga steps is refreshing and you can have the way of the cross going to the top. Listening to the sounds created by the birds and the wind is so calming added to it is the beautiful view and the mountain dew. The tiredness going to the top is worth it, the scenery, the view of the roads, the clouds and fogs are breath taking. It is indeed a tourist spot worth visiting and something to be proud of. Kudos to the people behind in developing, maintaining this beautiful place....
Read moreIt's such an amazing forest ,pine trees sceneries in the hilly portion of Leon municipality, province of Iloilo, Western Visayas, Region 6. During our visit here, still rough roads, a bit scary. Rented habal-habal (600pesos2way )from the town proper of Leon. An hour or less or more ( depends on the driver) travel time from the town.
There's a daily doubled tired jeepney trip here but you have to wait patiently until it is full upto the roof . Cheaper fare of course.
As of writing, May 2022, it is now fully a developed tourist spot. Roads cemented already thru the efforts of the late congressman Arcadio Gorriceta. A more comfortable, safer , faster and enjoyable ride.
A pilgrimage site during holy week, stations of the cross .
