This ridge is also known as Paminhawa Ridge. It's an 8-km hike to and fro. Super challenging for first timers. But super worth it!
By 3:00 AM, we are already at the starting point of the trail. The atmosphere is so serene and chill. We even managed to see the Milky Way with our naked eye! Superb experience! Stargazing before hiking is definitely a plus! You'll encounter a steep terrain going down, then you'll pass a sturdy bamboo bridge (nothing to be afraid of promise!), then all the way high up to the ridge (with plain trails at some points). There's a sari-sari store before the final climb. The store has benches if you need a little rest. We managed to get to the peak by 5:15 AM. Breathtaking experience lalo na't first time ko yun!
I recommend this for first timers. I have friends who have hiking experience yet they still enjoy this place. Also, there's a lot of beautiful places to visit after hiking. Estimated budget for an all day tour (hiking + sidetrips): PhP 1500.00 if you're from Davao City. Don't forget your water and...
Read moreI and my friends planned to be here a month before. I tried to read blogs about this trek since we planned to do it on our own. We thought it is just a minor trek, we always compare it to our Mt. Capistrano experience. We thought it is much less difficult because photos that we see on the blogs and google search seems easy to walk with but oh, we were so surprised, the photos most shown are the ones on the top view(we realized). Our bodies, honestly were not that prepared so I adviced those who plan to come here to have some exercise atleast a week before your planned day. Also, bring some ointments with you in case of faint scenarios, it would be a great help. There are downhill and uphills before reaching the wonderful view. Yes, it might have been a challenging trekk but it is so worth it once you...
Read moreOther reviews seem to be a bit misleading, so we did not expect it to be that difficult. There are 2 ways to reach the summit. 1 is to ride a habal habal which can take you before the summit, you will still need to hike for around 30 mins after to reach the summit. 2 is to start from the base camp (Ant Farm) and we went with a local guide (you may check Renante Estrada/Renan Laag, he's a good one). From the base camp, the trail is difficult and during our time the ground was wet so it was very slippery and prone to slipping. It took us 2.5hrs to reach the summit since we were really careful. We still chose to hike back to ant farm and it got a bit easy since the trail is already dry. Habal habal will cost around 300-350 one way, so expect it to be twice if you would like to ride...
