The Mt. Alto
Mt. Alto is known as the highest peak of Eastern Visayas region that stands 1332 masl with a difficulty of 6 out of 9.
I thought it would be an easy climb, but I was wrong. The fact na I can’t use my right hand totally it made the climb more technical especially the rope section na almost 90 degrees ang angle of elevation. Not to mention the bad weather during our climb. Few meters before summit, I found myself hopeless and wanted to give up. One of my friends told me to stand and enjoy the climb. I asked myself why I am here? To reach the summit. Just like in life there is no turning back and you should not waste your time regretting all the decisions you made, especially during critical scenarios. All you have to do is to keep moving regardless how slow you are because eventually you’ll reach your goals, just keep the faith burning. Someone asked me, why climb knowing my situation? I was advised sa doctor ko na to stop climbing, but matigas ulo ko. The summit is the reason why we keep on moving and the story between the bottom of the climb and the summit is the answer to the mystery why we climb. It was a lovely experience and I will never forget this climb.
