The only mountain that captured my heart. Its majestic views and natural forest serve as the home of faunas. The colorful floras, from its smallest organism to the centennial trees. The terrains and trails serve as paths to the peaks and summit. The springs, rivers, falls, and lakes ease our thirstiness on our way. These are the waters not only for the hiker/climber but it serve as a life-giver for all creatures above the summit to the deepest point of the oceans.
I hope someday I can be there again. Watching my footprints in the shallow lakes. Taking pictures where my memories save those precious time.
Exploring my fatherland is like searching for a piece of myself. Every climb I take is a step to rethink what my ancestors lived back in those days. That story my father and grandfather tell me.

Do a lot of research and prepwork beforehand and try trekking through smaller mountains first, like Mount Loay in Sta Cruz. Reaching the top of Apo is really 90 percent mental so aside from physical preparation, make sure you got the fortitude needed too. Learn to take things one step at a time. When tired, rest.
