One of the best hot spring resorts I have been to.
It is almost 8kms away from the national highway but it is very accessible. Though is is gonna be a rough ridr 900 meters before reaching the place. You can bring your top-down motorservice, or your four wheels. It has a designated parking area.
The frontdesk man, I believe is the owner's son is very accommodating and welcoming. Napakamalumanay magsalita. Very calming.
There are umbrellas and cottages for visitors and rooms for rent for overnighters.
There is no corkage fee however if you are not able to book a cottage, you are not allowed to bring your own foods. But if you have one, then you can bring utensils to cook for lunch or dinner. 😊
The fact it is ranked 3rd most visited tourist destination in South Cotabato only tells you its popularity and prestige amongst the tinseltown.
Sulfuric springs are known to have beneficial effects to our bodies thus making it a good destination for relaxation and medicinal purposes.
Inside there are 9 pools with varying sizes and varying degrees and with a riverstream. It is child friendly at the same time. The shades of the trees make the area cool and relaxing.
We spent 2 hours there and we had the best therapy ever. Would want to go back there soon.
Highly...
This was the fourth hot spring I visited in Mindanao. I enjoyed two baths, one hot (about 41.5 degrees Celsius) and one lukewarm (about 39 degrees Celsius), which the Japanese like. Maybe it will increase on weekends. The locals enjoy the larger heated pool upstream, but the smaller bathtub downstream was filled with just the right amount of hot spring water. I soaked in the lukewarm water for 40 minutes and enjoyed the hot spring for the first time in a long time. The muscle pain in my calves was gone. It is a cloudy white spring with a faint sulfur smell. I would recommend a day trip bathing (wearing shorts) at a low price of 50p. it is a quality that makes me want to take the 4.5 hours to go back.
Additional Post July 5, 2025. I visited with my family after 3 months interval. The admission fee had gone up from 50 pesos to 100 pesos. It appears to have been renovated since our last visit 3 months ago. Not only is the whole place cleaner, but there is a better distinction between the hot springs and the swimming pools.
The hot spring at the bottom of the river is supposed to be close to the source water at about 41°C. The water here is hot and I am not used to hot springs. Only Filipinos who are used to hot springs can enter this one because it is very hot. The next hot spring is in a small space and its temperature is lowered with water, but you can stay in it as long as you like.
Otherwise, it is like a hot spring pool in Japan - a water pool.
The tables, desks, and charcoal cooking area for day-trippers are very clean.
I used the overnight cottage. It cost 2000 pesos with bunk beds. My family of four used it.
It is hard to find a spa of this quality. It is a little far from Davao, but I highly recommend...
Read moreWe have been very lucky to enjoy the healing benefits of the sulfuric hot springs just an hour or so away from Gensan. We actually didn't know the exact location of the resort so thank you google maps, and it was worth it. Facilities-wise, could use some improvement. They also offer short orders and have a store at the entrance.
UPDATE: they now have so much to offer from the last time we visited. They have electricity. They have more pools. They also offer overnight stay. The facilities have been upgraded and more accessible to those in...
