From a far, it is just a simple tunnel but looking at the details, the tunnel was painstakingly done by natives or soldiers before. Add to the amazement is that the tunnel is passing through a big rock. Huge one. And the tunnel is made up of steels and high grade cements. It is actually a womder of its own. I would say. Around noon time, riders from different places would flock the area. And even those private vehicles would stop and would enjoy the chat from the few locals.

60m long Picong Tunnel is the only road tunnel in Mindanao. Located along our National Highway in the town of Picong, Lanao del Sur that connected Pagadian City and Cotabato City. This World War II tunnel was built by the Americans and still operational up to this day. Not much to do here except sightseeing. You can also stop by and take some pictures.

I didn't know that there is a wondrous historic landmark here that I didn't hear of. Facing the tunnel was a gigantic rock formation that's really awesome. I wonder if people can climb it.

Army checkpoint nearby is noted and makeshift toilet is provided for passing commuters. Good if the LGU can upgrade its facilities as part of their tourist attraction as this is the only tunnel road in part of Mindanao that serves as passage to Cotabato, Gensan Davao,...
