Bahay na Pinaglitisan kay Gat. Andres Bonifacio (Bonifacio Trial House) Maragondon, Cavite The Roderico Reyes Ancestral House, famously known as the "Bonifacio Trial House", is a historic house that was converted into a museum in Maragondon, Cavite. This is where the Supremo of the Katipunan, Gat. Andres Bonifacio, and his brother, Procopio Bonifacio, stood trial by a court martial and were charged with treason and sedition on May 5, 1897, for his refusal to accept the revolutionary government of General Emilio Aguinaldo. It was formally declared by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines as a National Historical Landmark that has now become a tourist spot, destination, and attraction. This antique house with Spanish-Filipino design, detail, and style is made of stones, bricks, wood, and capiz shells. Because of its age, you can really feel the presence of past entities, souls, and spirits, probably because of the negative emotions that were left here, including fear, anger, pity, and disappointment that they felt at that time in the past decades, which is a testament to the sad reality of his life’s tragedy that now became part of History.

This place is one of the must see when you are in Maragondon, Cavite. I really liked how they developed this place from a simple wall picture pasted information into a more inter-active educational tool. LIKES: the place has been preserved and well maintained, the trial house is fully airconditioned, I really liked the trial narration portrayed by the actual character- for me it is indeed very captivating how Bonifacio and his brother been treated unfairly, museum staff were courteus allowes every visitor to fully cover the place, very informative information has been adorned the entire house which I really applauded those people behind this museum-we hardly had information about Andres Bonifacio written in our textbook and this museum contains it. DISLIKES: no parking space for travelling visitors, I do not see any CR inside or even outside the museum, no souvenir shop in/outside this museum which a visitor like me look forward to-a ref magnet would suffice.

NOTE THAT IF YOU ARE GOING TO SHOOT SOME VIDEO CLIPS INSIDE THE PREMISES YOU SHOULD BEAR A WRITTEN PERMISSION ADDRESSED TO THE CURATOR. THE DOCUMENT IS AVAILABLE AT THE SECURITY GUARD AREA. HAVE YOUR VALID ID PHOTOCOPIED, TOO. THEY WILL ONLY ALLOW YOU TO FILM AT LEAST 20 MINUTES. I LOVE THE PLACE. YOU CAN LEARN MORE ABOUT GAT ANDRES' CONTRIBUTION TO OUR HISTORY. THOUGH SORRY FOR MY RATING BECAUSE THE CURATOR HIMSELF IS "SUPLADO" AND DIDN'T EVEN SHOW SOME WELCOMING GESTURES UNLIKE THE FRIENDLY MUSEUM CURATORS IN OTHER NHCP MUSEUMS. WHAT A SIGH. WE JUST ENJOY OUR TRIP SINCE WE TRAVELLED FROM PANGASINAN UP TO HERE. BUT DISAPPOINTED WITH THE CURATOR'S "ASAL" 😂 OVERALL, IT IS STILL MEMORABLE AND EDUCATIONAL.

Its great to know that there's a place dedicated to Andres Bonifacio. Though the place is small, it's packed with pictures, information, and there's even a life-sized diorama of the trial of Bonifacio and his brother Procopio. It's a great learning experience that offers a better perspective of Bonifacio. There's an informative video that the visitors can watch before proceeding to go about the place. It's within the town proper of Maragondon and just a few minutes ride away from the church.

The house which Andres Bonifacio and his brother stood trial for trumped up charges against them. Though a private area, a nice museum by the government depicts the trial through a life sized diorama. Besides the trial of Bonifacio, a section is dedicated to his wife Gregoria de Jesus aka. Lakambini is also featured. A great place to be in for a history buff. No fees are collected as of the moment but any donation will do to help for the upkeep of the museum.
