I brought a group of 21 individuals, and I was hoping for getting to an island with the expectation that it will feel private as I heard from a previous visitor. Granted that it is Mangahan Festival Weekend, and there were many vistors the Alubihod Beach was crowded and overbooked, I saw a kid panicked, because of a jellyfish sting in this beach. So I went for asking for the boat to rent, and the boat dispatcher told us that there are no boats that will accomodate all of us, and we have to rent two boats. This is a dishonest answer, because we later found that there are boats that can accomodate my group. We were brought to a "nearby" Natago Beach Resort with entrance fee of 50(but a kind caretaker gave us a discount down to 20 pesos per head). It was not really a great experience because there are still many people and busy enough. So the island hopping experience did not feel great at all, and did not feel like hopping, because it is still crowded to me. Guimaras has many islands. I ended up paying 2,100 pesos times two boats, for a total of 4,200 pesos. I was not happy with this experience because it feels commercialized like for foreign tourists, and the dishonesty and the lack of options given. I was later told it might helped if I tried at other Guimaras locations. I will change my strategy next time. I will ask two things. 1. Are you bringing us to how many islands. 2. will at least one island present us an opportunity to be exclusive for my group? I'm sure this location will not give you the desired option and it is just...
Read moreRooms by the beachfront at Alubijod Beach Resort could use some renovation. The initial room we got had a noisy AC unit that seemed like it was going to break, and the bathroom looked unfinished. Thankfully, the staff were accommodating and arranged a room transfer for us.
On the bright side, the white sand beach was beautiful, and the bar had a cozy ambiance at night. The food was delicious, and the staff were great throughout our stay.
However, a major inconvenience was that they only accept cash payments, which wasn’t mentioned when we booked by phone. With the town proper 30-45 minutes away being the only place to withdraw money, it caused quite a hassle.
Overall, some improvements in communication and facilities would go a long way, but the natural beauty and friendly staff make it...
Read moreWe were over charged with fees. The restaurant is so chaotic during mealtimes. They should request for their guest to sign the receipts when ordering from either restaurants & charging to the room. To acknowledge we made the order. 2 girls ordered deserts & charged to our room, the resort insisted we pay for it when we were checking out (which we did). If they had us sign the receipts it would have been evidence that we did not order deserts, but it was so chaotic during meal times (lunch & dinner) & the servers are unorganized. Meals came out over an hour, including drinks: coffee, & water! Not sure why instant coffee or water would take forever to serve 🤷🏻♀️🥴. People were swimming everywhere including outside the marked area, did not see lifeguards. Not a fan...
