08 Jun 2022: We did the through-and-through course (Alayan I to Lion), and it took 4 hours to complete (an experienced spelunker or hiker who is not shutter-happy could probably complete the course in 2 hours). It's a beautiful adventure, but while the course is not all that technical, be informed that the course is mostly through cold water, and you have to be prepared to crawl, duck-walk, and probably even get submerged for a few moments. Don't worry, your guide will tell you how deep the water is. Tips: travel lightly and use a dry bag, carry an extra headlamp, use trail-rated footwear, save your battery for the latter half of the course for picture-taking, and bring lots of imagination. Do be careful, but don't forget to enjoy the beauty of the cave system. I intend to return and complete the various combinations of the 6 or 7 entry/exit points.

Truly Nueva Vizcaya's hidden treasure. It makes me sad that somehow this 4.5 km of a wonder (one of the Philippines' longest) is still relatively unknown but it also makes me happy, for the beauty of this place is still preserved. Avail all of the safeguards in the orientation area (helmet and lifeguard if you don't know how to swim) but I'd prefer you bring a trekking sandal for in one of the places (the mud pool specifically), it gets very hard to get through to this place, the mud is very, very thick. Trekking sandals would work better than the slippers or better yet, just carry your slippers. Very challenging but overall a worthwhile experience. One of the best our country has to offer.

The most beautiful cave I've been to here in the Philippines. I swear. From amazing formations to pristine speleothems, cave fauna (bats, crabs, fishes, birds) and great spots for IG-worthy shots! It's a 3-4 hour journey inside the 5th longest cave system in the Philippines. You can also ask your guide to lead you to some secret spots wherein it's not open to the public, these spots are super pristine/untouched and it's sparkly amazing!! I've been here twice and I suggest you get ready to get wet and have an adventure of a lifetime!
