Our recent visit to the Nueva Vizcaya People’s Museum was truly a memorable experience, one that gave us a deeper appreciation for the province’s rich history and culture.
From the moment we stepped inside, we were warmly welcomed by the museum staff. They were very accommodating and even offered to give us an introduction about the museum, which helped us understand the significance of the place before starting our tour. We learned that the building itself is already historic, as it once served as the very first capitol of Nueva Vizcaya.
On the first floor, we were greeted with a beautiful display of paintings created by talented local artists. We were told that the museum often rotates and features different artworks from time to time.
Moving up to the second floor, we were immersed in history through fascinating relics from World War II. These artifacts served as reminders of the resilience and sacrifices of those who lived during that era. Alongside these were exhibits that introduced us to the early cultures of Nueva Vizcaya.
Overall, the Nueva Vizcaya People’s Museum is more than just a place to visit—it is a space that preserves stories, celebrates creativity, and connects people to the province’s heritage.
If you’re planning to visit the province, we highly recommend making a stop at the Nueva Vizcaya People’s Museum. It’s a true cultural treasure that should...
Read more10 Jun 2022, around 9am: The museum is placed right at the center of town. We were not charged any fees (I feel bad about this and wish they would at least set up a donation box) and we had the place practically to ourselves. It houses various relics (clothing, household "appliances," hunting and gathering gear, and battle gear, among others). Having a guided tour was not mandatory, but a guide will get you further insight and context into the rich history and culture of the province. Some areas were closed due to renovations, but I intend to go back and have a guided tour once more relics are in exhibition. The staff were nice, and we did not have to fear leaving our heavy bags by the open main door because the guard was right there and there are CCTV cameras around. The building also houses the tourism office, making info gathering more convenient. Definitely a nice place to visit with plenty of...
