Sayahan Falls: Ormoc, Leyte, Philippines Sayahan falls is a 1.5-hour trek from the Barangay Hall of Brgy. Gaas. The Sayahan Falls is now considered as one of Ormoc City’s main natural attraction because of its crystal clear, emerald green and water as cold as ice. This waterfall is located within the majestic mountain of Sitio Maglahug, Brgy Ga-as and it is 30 kilometers from the city proper of Ormoc. Sayahan Falls is a natural gem tucked away in the most remote area of Ormoc City. For years it has managed to hide itself from the eyes of the tourists until recently when it was opened to the public in 2016. It’s a multi-tiered type of waterfall where the flow drops in a series of distinct steps or mini falls. What made this a must visit is its sheer size with an estimated height of over a hundred feet. And also, the deep basin that’s perfect for swimming and a rope was setup for the safety of those who can’t swim. The area sees about 200 tourists a year. This is considered a moderate to hard hike with some steep and slippery sections and some stream side bouldering. Additional Information: – Estimated 10-15kms away from Lake Danao – Almost 2kms trekking from Brgy. Gaas – First-Come-First-Service (FCFS) basis – Mandatory Hiking / Tourist Guide - 500php – Plus entrance fee - 30php Additional Information – Wear water / hiking shoes – Wear long pants for bug & skin protection while trekking through the jungle. – Bring food and enough water to keep energize. – Always listen to your...
