It was believed that this hill had the same thing happen on the chocolate hills of Bohol, a coral reef. This hill is located near Panguil Bay. Historically, the old church bell from Spain was put here since the Ozamiz Cathedral couldn't accommodate the enormous bell at that time. Who can lift that bell to be put on top of the church? So they decided to put the bell on Bukagan Hill.

Apparently, the site has some historical significance and the tower was constructed specifically to house the bells. Sections of the access road are difficult for all but 4 x 4 vehicles. Standard vehicles will find the going hard. The tower is covered in graffiti and the area would benefit from a trash clean up. Read moreI took few pictures of the hill. I took a picture of an old outpost and the historic and neglected iconic bell of bukagan. Going there might be a challenge, as the road is overgrown with plants. The road is quite narrow because of it. However we did saw a monkey while taking a break going up. Overall experience is 5 for me because we had a family outing. Meanwhile there's not much to do there other than admiring the iconic bell.
