We stayed for 2 Nights 3 Days because, well, we wanted to make sure we could relax after a long drive. Coming from the south, Nueva Ecija is certainly the in our typical route. I decided to book this place because the view and accommodations seem promising and we have a dino lover in our family.
We practically visited the Dinosaur Island in Pampanga multiple times, so I figured why not try this out.
Here are the things we loved about our stay at George Point:
The place is quiet despite the ongoing construction at the resort.
Landscaping and aesthetic of westernized cabins and homes were pleasing to the eyes.
The howling white dog wolf and the friendly brown companion dog gave us so much joy during the trip
You can cook your own meals! It is very big plus for families and for healthy eaters.
The friendly velociraptor dino mascot made my children very happy. The mascot at other dino parks like to act wild like an actual dinosaur, but this one here at George Point was friendly, which made it enjoyable for the kids.
The breathtaking view of the mountain range! Wow , wow! Wow!
The chirping of a thousand birds echoing from the mountain wakes you lovingly in the morning. 😍
Now, here are the things that could improve:
I really didn't like the smell of the bathroom in our cabin... I'm not sure if it was the lack or poor ventilation, but let's just say I avoided it as much as I could.
Water pressure is so strong that it is both impressive and a nuisance. Water would literally spill out of the sink because of how strong the water is coming out of the faucet. You had to carefully readjust it every time. It was frightening to use the bidet. Tabo all the way. Lol
There is no water heater in the bathroom... and not sure if the kitchen sink heater is connected to the bathroom, but when it did get warm for a bit in the bathroom, i was shocked because the color of the water also changed to yellow. I got scared and just wanted to jump back in the water at minalungao National Park. Lol
The kitchen, well... i can't really complain because nothing will be better than your kitchen at home.
I think they should just add a second bed in Krishna's cabin instead of just the mattress on the floor.
There are no screens in the cabin... so we had to open the windows for ventilation, especially during cooking... downside is that the flies and mosquitos would come in.
The pool is not very kid friendly. They had a little stairs area for the kids, but it dropped to 4.5 ft all the way to 8ft according to the staff... it is deep that there is literally a crystal kayak on the pool! Lol (Nice view by the pool, though).
Outdoor dining options are available, but it can be an issue when it rains/pours/pr becomes really windy. The flies also were a bother.
Overall, though, we enjoyed our stay. While we are not sure if we will be back again, I do recommend others, especially locals in the area, to definitely check it out. If you have a dinosaur lover in the family like us, that alone makes the trip worth it. It is not as extensive as the Dinosaur Island at Clark, but it is worth it for...
Read moreIt was a long drive from Bulacan; it took us almost 4 hours. There aren't any signages along the route to indicate proximity to the location in advance so you have to be alert. The main signage are quite visible but the street itself is not so obvious. Mobile data fluctuates around an hour away from the site.
Highlight of the trip is of course the animatronic dinosaurs. They are very well made and their movements are lifelike. However, it lacks immersion as the dinosaurs are simply on display. Kudos for the scientific names and informations. It took us less than 15 minutes to check out all the dinosaurs. Perhaps they could add some elements of adventure or enhance the trails to make it more immersive rather than just a walk through a set of displays.
The view from the site is spectacular, showcasing Pantabangan dam. This alone makes the site unique from other dino parks. We visited in December and the weather was very agreeable and enjoyable.
They have a restaurant but much better is the fact that you can bring your own food with no corkage fee.
We didn't ride the dino jeep but I observed that it was only used to shuttle visitors up and down the steep slopes. A 2-minute ride at the best.
Not for senior citizens or physicially handicapped. Great for children, but without the Christmas promo, the entrance fee might be too high.
All in all, I recommend this site as a great side trip if you ever happen to be in Nueva Ecija or on the way to or...
Read moreThe Worst Place I've Ever Been
I recently found myself in a place that can only be described as a living nightmare. From the moment I arrived, I was overwhelmed by an overwhelming sense of disappointment and regret. This place, which shall remain nameless, proved to be the epitome of everything that can go wrong in a travel destination.
Navigating this place was nothing short of a Herculean task. Signage was practically non-existent, and asking for directions proved to be an exercise in futility. The locals seemed completely disinterested in assisting visitors, leaving me feeling lost and frustrated. The absence of reliable public transportation further compounded the issue, making every journey an ordeal.
The attractions touted by this place turned out to be nothing more than a series of disappointments. Historical sites were in a state of decay, with little to no effort made in their preservation. Museums lacked proper curation and were poorly maintained, rendering them uninteresting and forgettable. The few natural wonders that were advertised were overcrowded and marred by the constant presence of litter and pollution.
In conclusion, my visit to this place was an unmitigated disaster. It was an experience I would rather forget. I strongly advise against visiting this destination if you value your time, money, and sanity. Save yourself the misery and explore other, more fulfilling travel options. Nothing to see here...
