Bataan National Shrine is situated atop the mountain with 550m elevation, overlooking nearby the picturesque Bataan towns and Manila Bay. The iconic giant Memorial Cross which is about 95m in height still remains mesmerizing (on a clear day it can be seen from MOA by the bay). Visitors are not allowed anymore to climb the cross as it needs renovation. The shrine is well maintained. Right after the entrance gate, there's local tourism office with staff and tourist guides. There are some souvenir shops, cold drinks vendors. The uphill climb from the highway has a series of stiff turns, be sure your car is conditioned. The place reminds me how selfless and courageous Filipinos are defending the country from foreign envaders. It is great that this shrine/monument was erected in honor of the fallen heroes.

Nice view from the top. Interesting museum. Well maintained place. But very bad customer service. Not PWD friendly. My mom who has difficulty walking was not able to see the place that much because I was not allowed to drive my car to the viewing deck. I asked the guard if I could just drop my mom at the viewing deck and I will park my car at the parking area. I was told it was not allowed! So my mom had to wait at the visitor’s lounge while me and my 2 other friends toured the area. When we came back, another guard told us we can drive my car to the viewing deck. But it was too late already. The worst part was that several cars were at the viewing deck! The guards taking payment were also not friendly. The other workers were not helpful as well. Their customer service was better way back 1999 when I first visited this place.

A befitting memorial to the heroes of WW2. It was commissioned in 1966 by then-President Ferdinand Marcos as part of the 25th Anniversary of the Second World War. The giant cross served as a remembrance to the Filipino and American forces who lost their lives during the Battle of Bataan. The complex also contained a war museum, which contains collections and paintings of the Philippine heroes, as well as artifacts such as weaponry and other equipment that was used during the battle. From atop the cross, visitors can see the panoramic view of Bataan and on a clear day, the capital Manila can be seen, fifty kilometers away across the Manila Bay.

Great view on top! Great History finds for World War 2. Best to go here early in the morning around 8-9am to catch that good cold weather and the sunshine still does not hurt. Do not get too late in the afternoon as there are no post lights in the road down the mountain and currently have road constructions in some parts of the trail. There is a minimal entrance fee of P30.00 per person and P40.00 for the parking. Not bad for an awesome view and experience. There are also some stalls there where you can buy some snacks, drinks, and souvenirs. The CR though do not have lights when we visited but are clean.

October 13 2021 Everyone is welcome in da home of da lord is a complete LIE. It took us more dan hour to reach mt samat from nagbalayong morong. Once we reached da gates, we wer prohibited by a security guard to enter. I humbly asked if we can at least take photos by da parking lot overlooking da cross but we wer outright dismissed. If a person tells u his job is on da line, ders no point discussing further. I guess its time for our nation to be like president DI GONG GONG in becoming pro china. Hence, our new religion would be= IN BUDDHA WE TRUST or TO BUDDHA BE THE GLORY

Went here last Saturday (May 18) and paid P30 entrance fee (adults), P20 Students and P50 Parking Fee. I hope that the visitors are informed prior to entry that the museum and elevator going up, inside of the cross, are actually closed for renovation. Accessibility is hard for those who find it a challenge to walk as the road up and near the cross was also close. There's no other way to reach the cross than by walking. But ok for those who enjoy walking. Eating is not allowed on top and picnics are usually made prior to gate entry.
