Unisan Sands Highly Not Recommended! Please take time to read this post.

Pros: The place is good, security check upon entry and exit, with roving guard/caretakers(sabi nila, but i dont see any during our stay) Cons: not cctv operated area(may mga issues na sila ng mga guests na nawawalan ng pera/stuff pinpointing of an inside job yet doesnt upgrade their security with cctvs) -no signal, have wifi but only on the clubhouse. Kelangan mo pa magpunta sa clubhouse para makawifi. the lock in the rooms or some rooms are very old. Mahirap na iikot ng susi. -their office is very far, no other way of calling their staff other than walking towards their office. rooms are not worth it for the price, considering the place is old, even the locks on doors is old and rusty

Scenario: this is a 3 days,2 nights stay 1st day: Upon check in, we already had the issue on the locks of our door. Can be locked on the outside but very hard to lock inside. Dahil hirap kami ilock yung pinto, ang set up ng pagtulog, si hubby malapit sa door in case someone breaks in. We did not have the opportunity to inform the staff as we discovered it very late, and it was past the operating hours of the stuff. Maayos naman kami nakatulog without our staff losing. 2nd day: We woke up very early dahil may church kami ng 6am, so around 4am mga gising na kami. After church, balik sa resort at nagpahinga ulit dahil mga puyat. Gising ulit to have lunch outside. Then go back to the resort and sleep again. Around 3:30pm gumising then prepare for swimming. Past 6:30 nagyaya na si hubby na magbanlaw na. Then we had dinner. I had coffee after then prepare to sleep. Bago matulog i had thoughts of sleeping with my sling bag (to where all my money is) beside me. But i shrugged it off. Hirap pa din kami ilock yung room namin. Since 1st night wala nangyari, same ulit ginawa namin sa pagtulog, si hubby malapit sa door side. Sumunod na matulog si brother and sis in law. 3rd day: Woke up around 7am, dahil nakatoka tumulong magluto ng breakfast. Wash my face. As i was about to get my pouch(full of make up and skin care) na nakalagay dapat sa ibabaw ng bag ni hubby, wala doon. Hinanap ko at doon ko nakita sa ilalim ng higaan namin, nakabukas! Including my pouches full of make up and skin care. Tumingin ako kung san nakasabit yung sling bag ko, wala na din don. Nakita ko yung sling bag sa ilalim ulit ng kama sa may ulohan na side. Wala na yung pera at earphone na laman! I think, this is a big possibility of an inside job, because 1. Coincidentally nagyari sa last day namin. 2. Doon pa sa room namin na alam ng mga sstaff na mahirap ilock yung pinto. We reported it to the management, made us wait , transfered as from staff to staff. And an hour later, we had the opportunity to talk to their boss/owner. The owner gave as the option to refund of 1/3 of the money lost, i tried negotiating to a half but the owner said he cant do that. We had no choice as we also had our fault. Recently i heard that theres already a law stating that any establishments are required to have cctv called CCTV Act of 2022. It just makes no sense as the owner was saying that he is paying his secury guards 17k a month, yet doesnt bother on buying cctv which is much cheaper, and can save 17k a month since he doesnt need to hire security guards anymore. So i say, this is a big probability of an inside job or a possibility of a modus going on as there are a lot of issues in that resort of guests losing their staff or money yet doesnt bother on upgradung to cctv. Kaya friends, if you want to take your vacation in quezon province, i do not reccommend in Unisan Sands. There are a lot of places where you can enjoy the beautiful beaches of quezon province and with the safety of your belongings too. Definitely not worth it going back. This happened January 1-3,3025

Road to this area is an alternating small stretch of narrow concrete road and mostly dirt road. Don't expect access to the internet as the place can only offer you patchy bar of H and 4G signal for Globe and E to none for other providers, but there's pisonet being offered near the gate if you want to avail that 😗, the resort offers no wifi service.

Room rates for private rooms are higher than average and will apply to both adults and children (Inquire or chat through their facebook page for specific rates). If you are planning to come in a group of more than 12 pax, better book the gallery which will be at a lower rate and will offer easier access to parking, pool, and dining area; but this option will only provide you with the minimum of clean beddings, fans, TV, and washrooms, you will also have to endure the noise from the diners and the bar. Regular rooms are air-conditioned and will provide you the privacy and the usual amenities to expect. These mentioned options will also grant free access to the beachfront  cabanas. If you're planning to drop in for a day tour, there is a separate rate for renting the cabanas and corresponding entrance fees. They also have a camp site which offers a great view and area, just be wary of the falling coconut fruits and tree parts 😅.

Food is really excellent but the rates are the same or even higher compared to the usual dining places in the city. Better pick their set meals for a more affordable and satisfying dining experience. No corkage (for now) if you opt to bring your own food, but you can't really go wrong with the food they're offering. For a hassle-free dining and stay, I highly suggest supporting them by ordering their food.

If you're looking for Instagram worthy photos, this place is teeming with excellent spots. The beachfront has a relatively low water level which has minimal wave activity and is only affected by the ebbing of tide resulting in a slippery coast and making the visits to the infinity pool more favorable, be sure to bring your aqua shoes or other foot gears if you are planning to wade in the rocky shore.

Due to the ongoing pandemic situation, the area is still on a restricted status, it will be wise to sign up for a permit through the s-pass.ph website or app...

Drove 5 hours and stayed for 2 nights with my family. Price is a bit expensive relative to the quality of the accommodation, poor service and bland food from their kitchen. Upon entering the vicinity, the guard asked all of us to get off the vehicle so he could count all of us instead of him getting up and checking the vehicle. It was raining and no one cared if we get wet with a 3 y/o kid with us. No one offered any cover nor umbrella. After he counted, we were directed to go inside the office to check in and pay. We have found the personnel chitchatting plus one of them with both feet on the table (gross!). It already felt like we landed in the wrong place. There was no phone signal but that was something we already expected as we read a few comments prior to coming. When we got to the accommodation, we were given 2 options but the other 1 was at the back facing the trees and opposite to the beach. We opted for the beachfront which was the same price. What we've found:

leak on the floor from the bathroom flowing to the living room. Water sips under the sliding door or it could be a water proofing issue everything is rusty including the bathroom sliding doors. You cant even close it properly 1 roll of tissue considering there are 5 of us women dirty looking bathroom tiles with white watermark stains dirty curtain rod busted lights in the sink area broken sofa bed for 2 people cheap and thin sheets

Not anyone from the staff gives a damn about the guests. You asked them something and they will just look at you with wondering eyes. There were working zombies just passing time.

At least having people who care would have made a difference.

I liked the driver who gave us a ride back to the parking area. He was quick to get back and take us. He was interested in a chat and had something to say about nature and everything around us while on our way ;p finally a human being!

The upkeep of the whole property is bad.

The restaurant was serving super tiny mussels, tiny shrimps as if food sources are depleting in this place. We ordered from day 1 to 3 hoping we can get lucky to pick 1 good one but none. Their cooking needs to improve.

Overall, sorry but it is not worth...

Unisan Sands is a very beautiful place but there are lots of pros and cons to staying here: Pro: it’s a really beautiful place - there are mangroves and you can go fishing, you can bring food with no corkage, it’s a large resort so good for those who like camping and volleyball. Furbabies are also quite welcome. Cons: we had issues at the restaurant because they were selective with the senior citizen discount - they only gave senior discount for individual plated meals but not for group meals. When I asked them about it they said that the manager said that’s the law so I asked for the manager but they said the manager was away. Another issue was that the bathroom was not well-maintained - we couldn’t use the sink because the water was clogged and not going down at all. It would have been better if the resort had a dirty kitchen or washing area outside the cottages so guests can wash their utensils and cookware not inside the bathroom. There’s also no wifi and very weak signal in the area. The staff were also not that well trained and careless about safety and security of the guests - we went kayaking and my dad was so stressed because he was asking the staff what would happen if the boat tipped over and the staff said we’re on our own. There weren’t any lifeguards by the beach and the pool. Lastly, the seawater pool was not clean and had a lot of moss. I can recommend the place for campers because there’s a wide area for camping and cooking/grilling food. But for guests who would stay at the cottages, it’s a hit or miss I guess.

The infinity pool is definitely the main attraction here. With a backdrop of coconuts and the ocean, it's a guaranteed instagrammable pic. The beach is ok. There were creatures biting us in the sand so we didnt stay long enough. The tide is high (chest-deep) in the morning and low (ankle-deep) in the afternoon. Road to resort is narrow and rough. The restaurant is cash basis only. Signal is non-existent. No wifi at rooms and dining. No corkage. I'm a little bit disappointed with the room (Caigdal ~P5000) because it was sold as 4pax but the bed is only for 2 people and you get extra beds for the other 2. The restroom was dirty. No showerhead and heater (disappointing). I slept on the floor next to the bed and there were insects biting me all night. The food is terrible. We ordered Caldereta for lunch (too sweet) and seafood penne marinara (too sweet) & sisig tofu for dinner. They were obviously just microwaved as I found the plastic knotted and hidden in the pasta. They couldn't even serve with proper plates and utensils. There is no free water so better buy outside as they only sell 1L for P35. The dining area is full of insects at night because of the lights. The public restroom is legit disgusting. There's only 1 atm in town so better bring enough money. There's a P1000 deposit for overnight guests. IMO spending overnight here is not worth it. Better take a day trip or spend the night in town.
