Stroller friendly. We loved the interaction with the giraffe! That's by far my own favorite. We enjoyed feeding the pigs, bearcat (1st time to see these), goats, sheep, rabbits, guinea pigs, peacock and peahens. The iguana feeding was a bust because they were not interested to eat. The kids loved the bunnies most of all because they could touch them. (You have to pay for the food to feed the animals) I enjoyed being able to stand and see the big predators up close (with a thick mirror in between us) - bobcat, tigers, puma, hyena, etc. Because my experience in other zoos, you couldn't be near because they used cage wires. It's so different to be able to admire their fur or how big they are in contrast to us. Other highlights: orangutan (he's quite big), the bears, bull, ostrich, mouse deer, crocodiles, snakes, hippo, etc. Food: 1. There's a food corkage fee. It applies even to home cooked meals or snacks. P50 as of Jan 2023. 2. They have a canteen with rice meals at P180. The snack selection (esp for kids) isn't ideal (i.e. popcorn, fries, mais con hielo), so we are happy we brought sandwiches. 😞 My biggest disappointment: - They didn't have a paper or online map of the zoo. An online map would have still been soo helpful. They didn't have a big overview map of the whole place on site too. They only have numbers and arrows (though helpful) to guide you from one area to the next. If they are able to do something about this, I would happily give them 5 stars. - It would have been really helpful to know what animals are at which numbers, at the very least, so we can opt to go straight to certain areas or we can plan our day. Esp with kids, we can opt to hurry past certain areas so they can spend more time where the animals they really liked were. - an effect of the absence of any kind of map: when we were trying to exit the zoo from #40 because we needed to leave already, we didn't know how to get out as quickly as possible without having to follow the numbers sequentially. So we had no choice but follow the numbers, sometimes finding out that we had gone around a loop only to find ourselves 10 numbers back, when we could have skipped that if we had only taken a different turn 10 mins ago.

This zoo is really far from the city, but that makes sense since it has so many animals. Overall, it's a fresh and fun experience, but I think the visitor experience could be even better with some improved planning. We bought three tickets online for a total of 1350 p. A single ticket costs 800 p, and children's tickets are 600 p. The internet connection isn't great there, so I recommend buying tickets in advance online. This is the first zoo I've seen without a map. The animals are all enclosed, so you don't have to worry about them wandering up to you, which is probably for the best. There aren't any proper cafeterias inside, just a small food stand selling lunch boxes for 250 TWD each (one rice, one meat), and there aren't a lot of options. Also, there's no air-conditioned area, so the whole place has a very natural feel. Next to the food stand, there's a pond with fish that are huge—bigger than some kids! But the water is a bit dirty, so visibility is low. After lunch, we started exploring the zoo. The exhibits are numbered from 1 to 70, but sometimes it's hard to figure out where the next number is, which can be a bit confusing. The zoo has a wide variety of animals, and the feeding experiences are quite enjoyable. Some of the animals seemed a bit grumpy, but most of them were doing fine. There are many types of crocodiles, some of which looked so still with their mouths open that I wondered if they were fake. The lion is on a small island, and its roar is so loud that I thought it was part of the background music. We got to touch and feed a giraffe up close for the first time, which the kids loved. The hippos were adorable, opening their big mouths wide. The bears seemed to take turns "working" to come out and get food. We also saw foxes with big ears, cassowaries from Australia, cheetahs, and an orangutan that looked like it didn't feel like "working" today 🦧. Overall, it's a pretty fun place, but there are no rest areas, and it can get really hot, so after about three hours, most people are ready to leave. The parking situation isn't great either; it's a muddy area, and there were three big water buffalo nearby, which scared me quite a bit.

Haven't been to Manila or Malabon zoo, but have seen zoobic. And for me, Avalon zoo is 👌👌👌. We went on a Saturday afternoon. 2 adults and our 2 and half year old boy. Trip took about an hour drive from our home in QC. Place is easy to find, there is a public parking walking distance from the zoo entrance. We booked on the web page and availed the tickets for 3 pax promo of P1350. (Instead of the onsite payment of P800). Sulit. We walked with baby on his stroller and everything is stroller or wheelchair accessible. Roughly Following the arrows (apparently there are 70+ arrows) we made our way through the zoo. Going to the various species of fish and crocodiles, then climbing up to see the hundred of species of birds, from birds of prey to love birds cockatoos, peafowls, ducks hornbills, casavaries, geese and even flamingos. Next we saw some monkeys, several different big cats, white lions, Bengal Tigers and a a believe a white tiger, African dogs, hyena, jaguars and a black panther. We then went and saw and fed Barry the lone giraffe (somewhat recently we were told namatay un earlier niya) then we saw the gibbons and orangutan. Followed by more birds. After which we saw several ostriches, some wallabies, and more birds. Then we came across the pygmy hippo and Hannah the hippo. Who we were also allowed to feed her. There were other animals including pigs, wild hogs and I think antelope. Followed by a small community of tortoise. The tour ended near the top grounds where they was picture taking with some birds, iguana and a bright yellow python. The animals here are well taken care of, it's clean and maintained but perhaps needs more signages or even an online map to help navigate people who are challenged in navigating. Other than that our son thoroughly enjoyed it as much as we did. We noticed there was some maintenance ongoing and hope that when we go back next that there will be more cool animals to see. Definitely a good place to bring your young children . Would be nice to see more educational information beside some viewing areas because that would have been good. Over all great place to visit.

It's so fulfilling to finally see kids run around a big open space like this! Hoping to see more kid-friendly outdoor activities soon 🥰 We went on a weekday, so there were only a handful of people in the zoo. It's also a good idea to come in the morning, so heat is more manageable. We booked our tickets through Klook! They ongoing promos and discounts. P3000 for 6pax for a zoo this nice is definitely a steal! 🤩 Avilon Zoo Rizal has around 70 stations inside the compound. So expect a lot of walking involved. It's a good idea to wear comfy shoes and only bring essentials. But if you're planning to bring a lot of things--you might as well bring a baby stroller. Use it as a pushcart for your things ooooor for a very tired out kid 😅 The animals, plants, and enclosures are well-maintained. The staff is also friendly! Some areas within the zoo are understandably closed. There are also a couple of rennovations within the compound. Don't let it put you off though--I think it's so nice to see that there are ongoing efforts to preserve and improve the place ☺ Lastly wear a mask and maintain social distancing 😷 Be responsible visitors, so more kids will get to experience 'normal' kid things like going to the zoo 💙🧡❤

A wonderful place to visit. A far cry from their branch near Tiendesitas. What I liked about the place: - The place is HUGE! - There are plenty animals - though about 40-50% of them were birds. I wasn't expecting them to have a hippo but they did. There was even a giraffe. - The animals look healthy and well taken cared for. - Plenty of trees which means plenty of shade. - There are a number of strategically placed restrooms. You wouldn't have to go back to the entrance at all. Plus, they're clean. - Kids would love the animals and the adults might just find pleasure in the sense of peace that being surrounded by nature brings. Some things to think about before you go there: - The in house Cafe does not have a wide selection of menu. There were about 4 to 5 varieties of packed lunch to choose from and once they're out... They're out. They won't be cooking a new batch. - Travel time. From Alabang it took us about 2 hours to get there. That is with minimal traffic. - Bring extra cash if you're kids are fond of feeding the animals. There are plenty of feeding stations and each costs about 50 pesos. - Bring mosquito patches for the kids. Lagoons + plants/trees = mosquitoes

I think, it's safe to say that this is my most favorite Zoo in the Philippines. Don't worry about Covid-19 in this place it's way too spacious, guess what the it's 6-7 hectares. I felt like a kid again while strolling around Avilon Zoo with my friends. I love the fact that the animals looked like they were well taken care of. The zoo has so many wonders to offer, as much as I would like to spoil here, I won't go in detail because I truly wish that you can experience it yourself, just trust me in this part. Let's start with the area going to the zoo, it's quite underwhelming outside but believe me, once you're inside, it's like a different world. 😁 You may also buy the ticket through klook.com if you want to save some money and time. Avilon, has 70 stations, they have this big colorful sign board everywhere so you won't get lost. About the animals inside, of course, before I forgot, you'll be overwhelmed and happy. When you leave the place, you'll have a big smile on your face. You may also buy food inside and drinks too. Bring your kids, it's for them (and us the kids at heart 😉). I just really love it there. ❤ Thank you Avilon Zoo!
