Tuka Marine Park and Beach Resort β˜€οΈπŸŠβ€β™‚οΈπŸ’¦

The place was nice though it isn't fully developed yet it is still commendable. The marine park is 20-30 minutes boat away from the community so you better stack up yourselves with baon and all the basic things that you need. There is no restaurant and the store you will find there only offers the basic amongst all the basic things you can buy (soap, shampoo, cup noodles etc...). They have rooms for overnight stay which I prefer over tent or hammock if you want to keep yourselves away from falling objects like coconuts. Apparently they (management) won't be held responsible if accident like this happens. So security and comfort is important and our utmost priority. Lastly, always check the weather condition before going. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't too cooperative when we visited the place. It was windy and low tide. There is no port on the island so when it is low tide, the passengers need to walk the coral reefs around waistline high water (so you gonna go soaking wet just after you arrived). It's corals so the surface or edges are too sharp! Plus the wind was too strong, too wavy making it very hard to walk to the shore. Almost all of the passengers have cut themselves just before they landed to the shore due to the sharpness of the corals. They do have first aid available on the island so I guess this is a normal happenings already. Just learn from our mistakes. Check the weather!

Regardless of the bad experiences we had just before we reached the island, the overall experience was good. You just have to appreciate the untouched beauty of nature, the solitude away from the busy streets of the metro, the serenity of the place and the courtesy of the staff who stays there. I mean, the bad experience happens when you don't plan ahead. We still got the opportunity to witness the beauty of the island or Marine Park Sanctuary when it started to go high tide. When the water reached the white sand so you don't have to go far and encounter the reefs and cut yourselves (again). When the wind wasn't too strong you get to enjoy yourself snorkeling and watch the beauty of the sea and what it offers down below. Regrettably we don't have a Go pro to show you the fishes and corals underwater so I guess we'll do that another time.

So that's it! Pack up and enjoy yourselves! Take a vacation and unwind.

Tuka Beach Resort: A Hidden Paradise in Sarangani

Nestled along the eastern coast of Sarangani province in Mindanao, Tuka Beach Resort is a hidden paradise waiting to be discovered. With its pristine waters, powdery white sand, and stunning views, it's the perfect getaway for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.

Getting There from General Santos City

Tuka Beach Resort is located in the town of Kiamba, about 62 kilometers south of General Santos City. There are several ways to get there, but the most convenient is by private vehicle or by hiring a car or van.

If you're coming from General Santos City, you can take the national highway going south and pass through the towns of Alabel and Malapatan. After passing through Malapatan, you will reach a junction where you need to turn left towards Kiamba. From there, it's just a short drive to the resort.

Alternatively, you can take a public utility van or jeepney from General Santos City to Kiamba town proper. Once you reach Kiamba, you can hire a habal-habal (motorcycle) or tricycle to take you to Tuka Beach Resort.

About Tuka Beach Resort

Tuka Beach Resort is a picturesque destination that offers a range of activities for visitors. The resort boasts of its fine white sand beach, crystal clear waters, and a picturesque view of the sunrise.

Apart from swimming and lounging on the beach, visitors can also enjoy snorkeling, diving, and island hopping. The resort offers equipment rentals for those who want to explore the underwater world.

For those who want a more laid-back experience, Tuka Beach Resort also has a restaurant that serves local and international cuisine. There are also picnic tables and cottages for those who want to have a picnic by the beach.

The resort also has rooms available for those who want to stay overnight. The rooms are air-conditioned and come with a private bathroom and a balcony that overlooks the beach.

Overall, Tuka Beach Resort is a hidden gem that's worth the trip. With its stunning scenery, crystal clear waters, and range of activities, it's the perfect destination for those who want to get away from it all and enjoy the...

TUKA MARINE PARK: A taste of paraiso in Sarangani

Yes you read it right; PARAISO... We might have different definitions of this word but definitely you'll agree with me if you have already visited Tuka Marine Park.

But wait!!! This post is not really about the beauty of this paradise. I just wanna share how LGU and Tourism gives importance on waste management.

Kunti palang naman napuntahan ko sa pinas (26/81provinces) but this is the first time I encountered this strategy. So here is the story. Upon paying for fees (entance, boat transfer, cottage) at Maasim Tourism Office, additional P200/group will be collected. They call it "GARBAGE FEE" parang environmental fee na din. Then 2-big garbage cellophanes will be given. For Bio and non-biodeg wastes. Here's the catch, Ibabalik sa inyo ung P200 kapag iuuwi mo kanila ang Non-biodeg wastes ninyo. Ang saya lang kasi kita talaga ang epekto sa mga kasama ko. Kanya-kanyang tapon ng basura sa tamang basurahan.

Saan pa ba dito sa Pinas meron ganitong solid waste mngt. strat???

Very nice place. If you're into nature tripping this place is a must go. The local government of this place is serious about protecting their environment, at the port you are to deposit 200 pesos and you can only claim it once you bring back your non biodegradable waste. Water is scarce in the place as it is a must to bring your own water supply. You can wash at the port in case Tuka ran out of water. You can cook and bring food at the venue and I really appreciated the Halal grill station though I am a Christian. I heard there will be more developments soon and I look forward to visiting the place again.

A natural wonder in Sarangani. This place is actually a natural beach cove beside a steep mountain. You can already touch the corals in about 10 meters from the beach. Curious fishes living in the corals will actually head near the beach to check the visitors. There are dangers of snakes and nearby sharks but it is much worth while to go here and experience untouched nature. Also, network coverage is very weak or none at all here which is a big plus! :)
