The 2 hour hike is worth it. It was my first hike so maybe for more experienced hikers, you can do it in an hour. I was told by the lady managing the small store on the Puncak Tanawan that the place is at 800ft elevation.
I did a solo hike but I'd recommend for you to go with a friend. The trail is very straighforward and obvious. I did not follow the one suggested by google maps. It is I think thw shortest way but I was told by the locals that it is a steep way and also dangerous. I asked around and found a longer but safer trail.
If you do not want to hike but want to go to Puncak Tanawan, you can pay habal habal from Sibulan to drop you at the foot of the trail. From there, you can wait for local habal habals to take you to Puncak Tanawan. Habal habal from sibulan (Php100) Local habal habal to puncak (Php 100)
Once you arrived at the Puncak (tip) tanawan, there is an entrance fee of Php 25 and Php 75 if you will stay overnight. They sell breakfast there too and pancit canton, chips and beverages. I heard they have a grilling stove or something. I have not stayed overnight but for sure it will get really cold in there. So bring jackets. You can also bring your own tent and rent their tents.
I will visit again and see how the city lights look from above.
Overall, it is a good experience. For hikers, start at 5am or 6am. It can get really hot.
See you on...
