Unsafe Conditions and Misrepresentation: Our Experience at "Home in Cavinti(Which is not in Cavinti but the actual place is Top Mount farm" Airbnb
Renting an Airbnb is often a convenient way to enjoy a peaceful getaway, but our recent experience at "Home in Cavinti" revealed significant issues that should be shared to caution future travelers.
Our group booked the property for October 29-30, expecting to visit Cavinti. However, upon arrival, we discovered that the actual location was in Pangil, Laguna—almost two hours away from the listed address. The route to the property was challenging: narrow, steep, mostly unpaved, and riddled with broken sections, making the journey not only difficult but potentially dangerous. Despite these hazards, we chose to proceed because we had a scheduled business planning session.
Weather conditions further complicated matters. Heavy rain caused the exterior tiles and pathways around the property to become extremely slippery and covered in moss. I had warned everyone to tread carefully, but unfortunately, mishaps still occurred.
The next morning, the situation worsened. Ms. Marianne was descending the hill when she was unexpectedly attacked by two unleashed dogs on the property. In her attempt to escape, she slipped on the uneven, mold-covered cement, resulting in a fall. Her injury was serious enough to require medical attention.
Adding to the distress, another staff member, Mr. Michael Umali, slipped on the pavement and accidentally bumped his head, which led to an emergency hospital visit.
These incidents highlight several major concerns: the misrepresentation of the property’s location, the unsafe access and walkways, and the presence of uncontrolled animals. Given these issues, we believe the listing should be removed to prevent other travelers from experiencing similar risks.
Our experience serves as a warning for future guests to thoroughly verify property details before booking and to exercise caution if choosing this location. Safety and accurate listing information are fundamental to a positive Airbnb experience, and it's important that such issues...

Given the misrepresentation of the property's location and the unsafe conditions—such as unfenced steep approaches, broken and unpaved roads, slippery moss-covered surfaces, and uncontrolled dogs—we request the listing be removed to prevent future accidents. We also seek compensation for medical expenses, lost time, and any related insurance claims from...

HIGHLY RECOMMEND
If you are looking for a place to reflect and with and a little bit of adventure, then this is the place to be.
They have a tree house, a nice nipa hut with a clear view of the mountain ranges in Laguna plus a bit of Laguna Lake and a nice tiny house on top of a high elevation with also a clear view of mountains.
The road leading to the place is challenging as if like you're in Baguio. The narrow road is 4.5kms from the main road, and some portions are still dirt road and can barely accommodate 2 passing vehicles, so it's really nerve-wracking. I recommend 4x4 vehicles.
Before you go there, check if it was raining because the trail to the nearest falls would be muddy.
According to the people, the LGU is planning to improve the roads as well as the trails to make it passable all year round.
They have bonfires, but I suggest you tell the caretaker only lit a few woods.
The best time to go there is during summer or dry season.
To maximize your stay, I strongly suggest you go there in the morning and check-out...
