The Bird Sanctuary in Tacurong is one of those places that holds great potential, especially with its impressive history and purpose. It’s a unique spot in the city, and the fact that it exists is already something locals can be proud of.

However, it feels like it hasn’t been promoted as much as it deserves. When we last visited back in 2015, the entrance fee was incredibly affordable, around ₱10 to ₱20 per person, though I can’t remember the exact amount.

The area is surrounded by bamboo trees and has a peaceful atmosphere, but there isn’t much to do aside from appreciating the natural setting. I just really hope that in the future, more development, care, and promotion can go into this sanctuary. It could easily become a meaningful destination for both locals and tourists. Sayang, the...

We visited the bird sanctuary, included in our itinerary to explore the provinces of SOCSKSARGEN region. Upon arriving to the entrance of the sanctuary, we are welcomed with a vast Palm Tree plantation. Gladly, we are welcomed from the doors by its owner. We were the sole visitors that time. Given the traditional conical wide brim hats that you have to don throughout your walking tour to avoid getting pooped on, we excited sauntered and frolicked around the densely bird-populated area. Just a warning to would-be visitors that smothering with anti-insect mosquito would come in handy, I encountered many insect bites. I also love the bamboo area that apparently is a good backdrop for your social media...

We live in Soccsksargen area and we have heard so much about this place. We will not be doing justice to our region if we have not gone there as we must be in the forefront of promoting it. Finally last August 2018, we got our entire family, (seniors in tow) to visit the place. And we were not disappointed. We are in awe by the habitation of the different bird species. We are grateful that our region has been chosen by God's wonderful creature to become their sanctuary. For tourists, expect a laid back ambience, do not expect the birds to be in cages. Imagine yourself in their realm and bask in the beauty of how God created all things beautiful. Support the preservation of...

Birds arrive starting 5pm so coje here at this time for you to see thousands different kind of birds. The entrance is only php20 per head. You can take a hat which is offered free as you tour around the bird sanctuary, purposely to shade you from the pees or waste of birds flying overhead. There are shades with bench all around the area where you can watch birds. A big river runs the edge of thus sanctuary. Unfortunately, we came here at 1pm, and saw no birds, but cheers the monkey entertained us!

This place has a lot of potential. I heard it's managed by the LGU, and so I wish they provide better upkeep of this area. It's beside a river, so perhaps additional activities could be explored. Timing is also essential. As mentioned by the staff, more birds flock during March.
