This is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Siargao and it is definitely worth a visit! Before you can drive down the road to the beach there’s a hut where you’ll have to register and pay a fee of 50PHP/person + 25PHP per motorcycle. When you go down the road there are people waving you over for parking, unfortunately you have to pay a fee again of 20PHP for ‘road maintenance’ which is a bit ridiculous of course. Since the parking fee is the same everywhere its best if you park as close to the beach as possible. After walking on the beach towards the tidal pools you can choose to walk over the rocks or via a path with stairs to the main tidal pool (left path at the sign). The tidal pools are amazing and a visit is best at low tide. You should really bring your water shoes and snorkelling gear. When snorkelling in the tidal pools you see plenty of fish and other small animals. The longer you look, the more animals you see emerging from al the crevices which makes it an amazing experience. Lastly, at the beach there are plenty of food stalls and restaurants. We really recommend to...
Read moreWe didn't care about the heat or the strong waves, even our fears can't stop us from going to this place! Best time to go here is 10am until 2pm where it is low tide and the pools are showing! Better get that lotion ready cause you are going to flaunt that body! Yes you have read it right! Chubby, fat, thin, petite, sexy! Show that body! You don't care about that once you got there. Take a picture then swim like you have never been to the ocean! Few things to set as a reminder. Better bring a dry bag to place your things on it especially your gadget. Place it where you can see it because the bay area is far from the pools. If you ever get hungry, I know you will! Don't worry there are a lot of resto that offers cheap but delicious food plus there are souvenir shops that are not expensive ! If you are not into rice there are food stalls you can choose from, the one that offers biko (Philippine delicacy) kwek kwek, fish balls, buko and many more. What are you waiting for? Go now and visit Siargao! See what the Island...
Read moreOne of three reviews for Siargao today. The others being Maasin River (5 stars), and Tak Tak Falls (ZERO stars, avoid at all costs.). The Magpupungko tidal pools are a very nice and relaxing adventure. Can get crowded so timing is key. Early to mid morning, midweek, is the best. Avoid late morning, noon. Bring sturdy water shoes (hard or firm thick soles) if you wish to adventure far. Also make sure they have some grip. A tip: head left like everyone else. But keep going after they stop at the big deep basin. And keep going after the remainder stop at the shallow basins. In another 100 meters there are more shallow basins you can have practically to yourself. And another 100 meters after that around the point is a large sandy beach, solitary, and great for a picnic or shell collecting. Entry fee is 50 PHP pp, and parking is 50 PHP. Conservation...
