Museum of Metallurgy and Engineering Industry in Chlewiska — Attraction in gmina Chlewiska

Expecting a mere roadside attraction, we've stopped by the Historic Ironworks in Chlewiska, small village in the Polish countryside. As it happens more often than not, it exceeded our expectations.

Visited mostly by the guests of nearby hotel and spa Manor House as well as some stranded tourists, ironworks in Chlewiska offer much more than just a glimpse into an old factory. Impressive furnaces and pipes nestled in the old, brick buildings create almost a steampunk ambience.

A collection of old machines made by pre-war Polish, English, German and American manufacturers may interest some enthusiasts, but even the uniterested will appreciate their iron might. More contemporary objects are also available - an impressive set of old Polish and foreign cars and motorcycles.

I sincerely recommend stopping by the Historic Ironworks in Chlewiska whether you're lucky enough to lounge in the Manor...

Interesting destination for those who interesting in technical things. A lot off cars, motorcycles, other devices.

It will be interesting for the children if they understand polish. If not - that will be problem. Because guide don't speak English or Russian... Only Polish... Also keep in mind that you can pay simbolic 10 zlots (for adults) and 6 zlots (for children). But...

Genialne miejsce o którym chyba mało kto wie. Fantastyczne eksponaty związane z motoryzacją - samochody, motocykle, a także ogólnie technikom - maszyny do szycia (bardzo bogata kolekcja), a także narzędzi przemysłowych - skrawarek, tokarek itp. Poza oczywiście zbiorami samochodów można zwiedzić całą hutę żelaza, a miejscowy Pan Przewodnik bardzo ciekawie opowiada, szczególnie o hucie o okolicy. Warto się spieszyć bo muzeum (jako oddział muzeum z Techniki z Warszawy) traktowane jest nieco po macoszemu, np. mają straszny problem z finansami i płaceniem rachunków. Także - odpukać - przyszłość tego wyjątkowego miejsca (stan na styczeń 2017) stoi pod znakiem zapytania. Dlatego warto się wybrać, zapłacić za bilet "bagatela" 6 zł i zwiedzać. Aby na spokojnie wszystko zobaczyć i posłuchać opowieści trzeba poświęcić ok. 2,5 - 3h. Można śmiało połączyć to z wycieczką do pobliskiego Szydłowca....
