Beautiful old water castle next to a lake with a wide garden around it. To visit castle and garden both costs some money buy the garden is really beautiful with large trees where one can rest and stay in the shadows of the branches when the sun gets hot in the afternoon. Check it the cypress with its aerial roots that look like small dwarves! It's recommended to visit the garden in spring or autumn as the petals or the later change of colour are supposed to be the two most beautiful seasons there. There is a parking space right in front of the castle.

From the outside it doesn't look all too special, then the pleasant, big surprise is on the inside: a beautiful floor spread out over different rooms. Special shoesleeves are provider to protect the splendid floor. Walking inside the castle will take about one hour, an hour very well spend. Don' t forget to look up. The interiour with it's floor will make you silence for a whole, somehow to make sure you absorb the beaty. It is not the most beautiful castle you will visit, but after your visit you will be very glad you have done so.

Although the castle is not.big, it is really worth visiting. Its history dates back to the 15th century, and its current appearance is due to Tytus Działyński and its reconstruction in the mid-19th century in the English neo-Gothic style. Over the centuries, the castle passed from hand to hand and belonged to the Górka, Czarnkowski, Grudziński, Działyński and Zamoyski families. Currently, the castle is the seat of a unit of the Polish Academy of Sciences - the Kórnik Library. There is one of the richest libraries in Poland

Very nice place! Make sure you also visit the Arboretum, especially if the spring if you like Magnolias, as they have a great variety of them. You can take a tour with no additional cost, alrhough in Polish, but there are spots where you can scan a QR code and get info. Just the toilets… they cost 3PLN but rhey are awful for what they cost!… no soap in the dispensers, they were not clean enough, rhey have to put attention to this.
