The hike from Marciszow to Janowice Wielkie via Kolorowe Jeziorka is around 20 km. The idea behind taking this trail was to catch the magical views of colorful lakes in Rudawski Park Krajobrazowy. We got lucky with the weather and two of the four main lakes looked nice and photogenic. The remaining two lakes were running short of water, probably because of the harsh summer so far. But the colors of blue, green, and yellow were so prominent in the lakes and i totally loved this place. Marciszow and Janowice Wielkie are only a couple of hours away from Wrocław which means perfectly accessible by train. Plenty of pine trees there, nice parking space and even some interesting looking caves. Don't go there with some superficial desires but it's always great to check this place out. I think autumn is a lovely time to be there. I'll try the same trail in autumn. Highly recommended place and...
Read moreAmazing, magical place. The best route, in my opinion, for one-day trip including this spot is: use a train to get to the "Marciszow" village, then head to the "Kolorowe Jeziorka" (Colourful Lakelets), then up to the peak "Pod Wielka Kopa". After this, find your path to the "Ruiny zamku Bolczów" (Bolczow Castle), and then all the way down to "Janowice Wielkie" village. You can, again, take a train from there, and it will take you anywhere the train from "Marciszow" would - but you don't have to backtrack and the whole trip feels like a great adventure! It takes approximately 6 or 7 hours, including stops and sightseeing. You can use "Hiking Map Poland" app to plan and safely navigate through...
Read moreA decent place to hike. If you are in that area then you can visit the lakes. Out of the 4 lakes the first yellow lake just looks like a shallow hole filled with water. The purple and turquoise lakes are good. Green lake has water mostly only during winter or spring time. When we visited the green lake did not have water. Overall not a bad experience but also not as good as it's publicized on social media. If you have small kids, then it's recommended to carry them in a back carrier and not a pram or stroller. Until 2nd purple lake the paths are ok, but after that the paths are uneven and also have a gradient. So you cannot push a pram...
