We visited the Meseritz Fortified Line as part of a battlefield tour exploring the Vistula-Oder Campaign. Upon arrival there are various pieces of armour and field guns used during the period which was interesting. We were also shown the fortified defence positions. As impressive as they were, what seriously impressed me was the guided tour on the inside by a knowledgeable young man who showed us the inside of the fortified positions. The Fortified Meseritz Line is more than a bunker. It's a complex network of train tunnels over 30km long spanning across the German defensive line. It's incredible to explore, the tour guide said to explore the entire network it can take up to 8 hours. Personally I'd love to come back and see as much as possible. Don't miss out on this incredible experience. Even if you're not interested in history, it's...

The tour guide was extremely knowledge and it's easy to tell how much he cares about the topic. That passion was not just part of his job. That said, for any no -polish visitors, I would suggest you download the app and play the audio in English at every stop, because the tour guide will be speaking in Polish most of the time. Be prepared for a very long walk even in the short tour, and keep in mind that for every staircase that you go down, you will need to go back up eventually (50 meters of them). At the end you can pay in cash to be driven back to the museum in a military vehicle which goes around quite fast and is a lot of fun. Don't miss the burger restaurant next to the museum, the Bunkier King, and order the Panzer burger, you will love it. A must-have...

I like to hike and explore the landscape and this area is a really nice location to do it. We were doing the short guided tour (~1 hour) for the underground facilities, you can book a really long one, i believe it was 8 hours or so. They were able to restore a surprising amount of detail in some parts, it was a little bit like a trip back in time. But be careful! If you want to explore some of the non-tourist locations of the Fortified region, be aware that a surprising amount of the WW2 obstacles are still around, barbed wire, spikes and reinforcing rods are obscured by foliage and are especially dangerous in forested areas. In addition there are pitfalls of several meters behind entrances and on top of...

On the surface you can see the fortifications and some vehicles without charge. Scheduled tours are given throughout the day for a small fee. We joined the short (90 minutes) tour. The staff at the register spoke English and the tour guide, upon learning that we didn't spoke polish, switched to a combination of polish and German so that everyone understood what was being told. Overall the tour was a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend anyone to visit. Be advised tough: The hallways are very cold and decent shoes are advised. It is important to also note that there is a lot of walking and a great number of steps in both guided tours, so people with disabilities might not enjoy it very much.
