The National Park is located in the Sudety at the Polish-Czech border. The main attraction of the national park are sandstone slabs. It covers an area of about 63 km² of their top part with the highest peak - Szczeliniec Wielki (919 m above sea level) and Skalniak (915 m above sea level). You can enter the summit with a stone staircase that leads from the foothills of the mountains to the tops. The route is very easy, perfect for a few hours walk with sightseeing. Visiting the rocks is paid-entrance, you can buy a ticket at the top. At the top there are view points, bar and a tour of rock fissures. It is worth to buy a ticket to visit Szczeliniec, the views are exceptional, the road leads through narrow rock beds and caves hollowed in a rocky mountain. From the top there is an amazing view of the area. Avoid small shops with memoires and Czech beer at the foot of the mountain, prices are very high and the same products can be found at normal prices in local stores closer to cities. There is a small parking at the foot of the mountain so you can get there by car or bus. It's worth seeing and visiting!

The Stolowe Mountains are a must visit in the Czech Republic for any hiker. You have multiple trails in the national park where you can follow the marked trees by different colour and/or pattern or the signs that point to the correct direction and tell the distance ahead. Also in the start of many trails you can find parking spots and a stand with additional information about the length and difficulty of the trail. In the trails you will encounter many stones in magnificent shapes and forms and rock walls that seem "outwordly". For our hiking we used AllTrails application to stay on route - it did help us multiple times as you can get off road easily as there are many routes/trails in the area! Note: most of the trails are dog friendly

Jak każde góry uważam, że są warte odwiedzenie i nie wystarczy jeden czy dwa dni na zwiedzenie tego wielkiego obszaru najlepiej zarezerwować sobie trzy-cztery dni z założeniem, że dziennie będzie sią robić od 15 km w zważ aby zwiedzić większość atrakcji. Góry różnią się od chociażby Karkonoszy. Jadąc do Szklarskiej Poręby lub Karpacza większość szlaków prowadzi na grzbiet góry (czyli dosyć stroma wspinaczka)ale później mamy drogę lekką łatwą i przyjemną idąc grzbietem na koniec oczywiście zejście mocne w dół. Tutaj mamy kilka górskich masywów na których "porozrzucane" są różne atrakcje (głównie skałki). Więc np. aby wejść i zobaczyć Szczeliniec Wielki wchodzimy na jedną górkę później z niej schodzimy i idziemy bardzo mocno w dół aby zobaczyć np. wodospad pośny, oczywiście później czeka nas powrót pod górę. Tak samo idąc w drugą stronę wchodząc np. na Fort Karola trzeba później zejść z jednej górki i wdrapać się na kolejną aby zobaczyć np. narożnik czy skalną czaszkę. Oczywiście jest również wersja dla leniwych lub osób z ograniczeniami ruchowymi np. pod wodospad można podjechać na parking i wystarczy ok 5000 metrów w miarę płaskiej i szerokiej drogi i już jesteśmy, na innne atrakcje jednak trezba wdrapać się trochę na szczyt albo dróżkami albo schodami (Szczeliniec Wielki) również dla bardziej wytrwałych można z Karłowa wyruszyć również na błędne skałki. Więc reasumując 3-4 dni porządnego chodzenia wystarczy aby w miarę dokładnie spenetrować większość szlaków w tym Parku.

I visited places here several times during last 35 years. Some things changed for pop-tourism and I feel rather sad for that. But that happened in top sites: Szczeliniec hill and Bledne Skaly, the last one still amazing for younger kids. But here, in Stolowe Mountains still are numerous wild paths, even tourist routs with several people a day only. It is still pretty natural on track. My advice - good shoes, good map, lots of fresh water - and start walking.

Stołowe Mountains National Park is located in the Central Sudetes, in the south-west portion of the Kłodzko region, at the border with the Czechia. The largest attraction of this national park is its picturesque rock bastions traversed by caves and labyrinths, as well as boulders, known as “mushroom rocks”, featuring shapes not seen anywhere else in Poland.

Jechałam krętą drogą z Karłowa do Kudowy i po drodze spotkałam parking, niezbyt zapełniony, koło 9.00 rano, YMCA, bezpłatny, a od tego parkingu prowadzi niebieski szlak do błędnych skał, marsz trwa około jednej godziny, trasa prowadzi wśród drzew, generalnie podejście nie jest trudne, ale w pewnym momencie trasa pnie się dość zadziornie, a podłoże pełne jest kamieni i grubych korzeni, mimo to, trasa nadaje się też dla 7-mio letnich dzieci, albo dla niemowląt ...w nosidełkach u taty ;-) Same błędne skały są obłędne, ich przejście nie trwa długo, ale to kapitalne przeżycie. UWAGA! Osoby z BMI mniejszym niż 25 pewnie sobie poradzą, ale czasami trzeba zdjąć plecak, żeby się przecisnąć między skałami, albo przesuwać się, powolutku, pod dziwnym kątem, aby sforsować kolejną grupę skał, no krótko mówiąc przednia zabawa. Prawie na całej trasie są drewniane podesty, które chronią turystów przed kąpielą w bajorze.
