Read moreNot sure where to start here, so let's go with the "basics" that being: any state sponsored park should have ORGANIZATION, which this place has NONE of!!!
There are colour coded trails that are supposed to lead you to some of the sights...umm, yup, but good luck finding them! It literally takes you starting down a path to figure out if you actually are on the right path. The maps posted around are off scale, not a single one had a N-orth indicator so the only way to match these up to your cell phone map is through pure trial-n-error, yey!
Ok, not done yet, heck not even started LOL. If you picked up an eSIM, like we did with Maya Mobile, well, you will find it is completely useless through the whole park. If you got here from Kraków with Uber, well, good luck getting one to take you back....tried three separate rides, each one dropped us after 20-25 mins of waiting!
There is a Saturday and Sunday bus that runs here, but otherwise you beat rent a car, or you are going to be stuck, pretty much like we did.
The lack of that ORGANIZATION was for pure tourists like us a major problem.
BTW: icing on the cake...there are no English, or other foreign language tours or guides (like what you must have for the visit to the Łokietek Cave), so if you hauled your butt up there you will be disappointed...hell, even the lady at the both selling tickets won't tell you that...you have to ask (afterwards), and this is coming from a guy that is fully...
Read moreUnfortunately a big let down and that’s a shame. I had high hopes to come here. I went in the off season and literally everything was closed, no shops, no restaurants, no tourist information centres. The informations boards are all in Polish and for a place next to a big destination like Krakow that is unacceptable. The nature there is nice but without the additional things it isn’t worth it. If you do go during the off season make sure you take your own food and your own transport or book transport back in advance because I nearly got stranded after dark! Also take a torch (because the lighting there is poor, even when there are lights) and warm clothes. There is no local transport whatsoever and barely any locals even though there are houses and shops (that were closed). The churches and visitor attractions were all closed. Even the phone reception was extremely poor I had to walk around for over an hour to get it which I eventually did on a specific spot in a car park, which allowed me to get an Uber back to Krakow, otherwise I would’ve been stranded. No one else bothered to check if I was ok even though I was walking round in circles everywhere. I was about to call the emergency number because it got dark and cold. Ultimately if you go here it’s for the nature, but allow yourself time because between each part it’s a big distance, for example between Ojcow and the castle on the hill it’s 8km etc. You will walk for long distances...
