Yes, the dunes are indeed impressive. It's worth visiting if you dont mind the crowds and paying through your nose. But apart from this I can't share the others' enthusiasm. Aka what to be aware of if you visit during the main season: -Insane crowds. We had a feeling that half of Poland is visiting it together with us. We tried to go relatively early at 10:30 but already had to fight our way through a traffic jam to the parking lot, queue 15 mins for the ticket office and 25 mins for the little "taxis". As we were coming back at 2pm, there were no queues at all. It seems it's better to go at 9am or later in the afternoon. -The dunes are 6 kms away from the nearest parking. Which would be ok if the whole route wasn't through a not too versatile forest with huge crowds to fight your way through. You can take little "taxis" if you don't mind queuing for 25 mins each way, but after 10:30am in the summer they only run 4 kms and you still have to hike the rest of the way. -Astronomical prices thanks to all providers having monopoly to push the price up to their liking. Parking: 9 PLN/hour with no upper limit. Entry to the park: 10 PLN/person. The little taxis cost 18 PLN / person (or 23 if you go the whole way), and the best part is that our 2 year old son needed a ticket too, even though he didn't take up a seat. -What you can climb is like 3% of the overall dunes and at the very edge. The rest is off-limits.

Obviously a postcard-perfect place but there are many others like this across the Polish seaside that are much less hassle-free and that you dont have to share with even 5%...

We drove up all the way to the entrance, the kasa and the dock. We took the ferry to a second dock 5km further on towards the dune. Once there we walked the remaining 2km to Łącka dune (hang a left! Keep going straight through the metal gates for a WW2 exhibit which costs extra). Anyway, we did the climb up the first incline, which I considered quite strenuous. Then the left incline to the top for a spectacular view of Lake Łebsko and the treelines slowly being swallowed by the dune. Take photos! We then proceeded to the beach for a little lazing at the water side. Baltic water is good for the soul. We took the Meleks cab back to the entrance since we ran out of time to catch the ferry back and we didn't feel like walking 5.5km. No matter, it was a good visit. One point I'd like to make here: Lącka dune is a national treasure, a protected nature reserve, which means one should stick to the tourist trail, to prevent damage to the Lącka dune ecosystem. One can observe however some people ignoring the barriers and striking out in pristine sands to get a nice photo. I find this behaviour reprehensible and make a point of it to correct these people, especially the ones with children, who will grow up thinking that rules and barriers are to be ignored. According to me his is selfish behaviour and deserves to be...

Wydma Łącka: Polska Sahara Pełna Życia i Tajemnic Wydma Łącka, perła Słowińskiego Parku Narodowego niedaleko Czołpina, to zjawisko przyrodnicze o niezwykłej sile i hipnotyzującym pięknie. Ta przejmująca historia dodaje miejscu aury tajemniczości i skłania do refleksji nad nietrwałością ludzkich osad w starciu z siłami przyrody.

You can bike to the end of the path right in front of the dunes (this is imho the best way to visit the dunes). You can either leave you bike unattended for free (most people do this) or you can put it to guarded parking place for 10 zł (it is possible to pay by card). At the entrance to the national park, you need to pay entrance fee. It is possible to buy online to avoid queues but it seems you need Polish bank account. At the booth, you can pay cash or by card (around 7 zł per person I think). If you don’t have bike you can either rent one or you can take electric mini bus from the entrance for the first part of the way and walk the rest (about 2km). Walking on the dunes is tiring, so be ready for that and also bring some water with you. It is possible to go swimming in the sea next to dunes, so swimming suit with you. Enjoy :)

Impressive dunes! Great views of the lake and sea. We arrived to Leba by train from Gdansk. You hail one of the minibusses on the side of the street and ask for the price to the dune (Wydma), which is around 15 PLN per person one way (worth asking, some charge more than others). From the dune park entrance you can either take another minibus or walk 4 km. During high season the last 2 km have to be walked anyway. Some also take bikes but you have to pass many pedestrians and minibusses. The walk is through trees - 2 km is nice, the full 6 km would be a bit monotonous and the minibus ride was fun! Allow at least an hour at the dune if you just want to climb it and see the sea. There were aome queues in August for the minibusses at the dune, we waited around 20 min to hop on to get back. Enjoy this great place!

Natural dune near the sea shore, what cannot be loved here. A stunning place for a family day-trip, a lot of space for playing with kids in sand or fly a kite. Brilliant place for a photoshoots. I even spotted some couples having date with a blanket, wine and picnic. From dune you may reach the sea. You have to rent a bike to get to dune from Leba town, there are plenty bike rental places directly in the town. Other ways to get to the dune are either by your own two or to hop on electric "bus" at tickets gate. We have chosen the bike option, 15 km of a nice ride in the pine-tree forest completely worth it, even with a kid in a carrier.
