I am not sure if it was 'lucky' per se, but when I visited Stuffhof it was getting dark, it was very cold and covered in snow. All of this added to the atmosphere of the place which is quite cold and eerie to say the least. When you park up (Fee is 15PLN) you are free to roam the site and visit at your own pace. I did not see anyone else there, no staff or public so I had the whole place to myself. Information boards are in Polish and in English and there are plenty around the site detailing which areas are which, as well as giving a further look into what happened. An absolute must for anyone interested in history; we all know it happened but visiting an actual site gave a much deeper sense of it all.

I feel weird rating a place like this with its history. It is a simple camp but with great detail and information. I recommend the movie(available in English) and learn more about the history of the camp as well as the people who worked there. I also recommend the audio guide(available in many languages)as you learn more than just the signs(in English as well). Unfortunately, if you want to buy any books or souvenirs you must buy them in the beginning when you buy your tickets unless you want to walk back to the front of the camp. The entrance and exit are in 2 different locations. I wish I would've have known that before I went through.

Muzeum daje o wiele więcej niż człowiek się spodziewa przyjeżdżając tam. Jest prawie tak samo rozległe jak auschwitz-birkenau. Jedno z pierwszych na ziemiach można powiedzieć łączonych polsko-niemieckich bo było to w obrębie wolnego miasta Gdańska. Lokalną jego specyfiką było to że przywożono tutaj również wiele innych narodowości i był to chyba najbardziej wielonarodowościowy obóz koncentracyjny i obóz zagłady. Świetnie obrazują to trójkąty które nosili więźniowie w tym słynny różowy trójkąt i bo zachodziło tutaj również gnębienie i zabijanie osób homoseksualnych. Systemowa homofobia systemowe tępienie systemowy rasizm i ksenofobia napędzały machinę zagłady. I powtórzę jeszcze raz tak jak wspomniałem na początku Stutthof daje o wiele więcej niż spodziewamy się przyjeżdżając tutaj. Nie róbcie tego błędu który ja zrobiłem przyjeżdżając 3 godziny przed zamknięciem. To jest zdecydowanie za krótko bo tu trzeba spędzić cały dzień. Albo przynajmniej 5-6 godzin. Zapach starych baraków który się tutaj unosi jest obezwładniający. Ale nie przejmujcie się w drugim albo trzecim baraku już powoli przyzwyczajacie się do tego. Ten zapach najmocniejszy i najbardziej obezwładniający jest w Auschwitz. Ale i do tego idzie się przyzwyczaić. Jeśli dziwi was brak biletów wstępu to powiem jedną rzecz - nie wahajcie się wrzucić 10 20 a nawet więcej złotych do szkatułki szklanej która jest na początku. Bo mimo dotacji ministerialnych czy bogatych sponsorów na utrzymanie obiektów i baraków, konserwacji i tym podobne, to jest po prostu potrzebne. Bo jest to pomnik ludobójstwa, masowego morderstwa a przede wszystkim Pomnik Historii.

What a sobering place. It feels insensitive to say that I had a great time. I had a tour by Thomas, an English speaking tour guide: I highly recommend having an expert show you around to explain the history behind this tragic place. It's the first time I've been to Poland, and to a concentration camp. We really must never forget the atrocities that happened at places like this. The juxtaposition between the rusty barbwire and watch towers seen alongside the natural beauty of the camps surroundings are haunting.

It's very strange to give this place 5 stars. I give the 5 star review because off our tour Guides knowledge and the way he told the story of Stutthof. The history of Stutthof is just barbaric. You can't believe this ever happened. The way the Germans treated human life is just unbelievable. We strongly recommend every human being to have a guided tour at Stutthof, just to learn the history of WWII. We have to thank Mr.Shuttle for a interesting trip and additional knowledge of the Gdansk area and history.

I highly recommend to visit the museum a visit. It's a reminder for what happened in the past. The impression is very shocking with which kind of cruelty and hate acted and murdered. The cinema of the museum is closed and some of the barracks too because of Covid-19. You can have guided tours for 80 PLN in Polish (max 10 each group) or 180 PLN for different languages. It's limited parking space. Don't forget to take your masks with you because of Covid-19.
