A hidden gem in Hel. We so to speak stumbled upon it and decided to visit. We bought the audio guide too, because some reviews said that all signs are in Polish. Yes, buy the audio guide if you don't speak Polish! The guide was a bit confusing at first, but you'll learn to love it. Basically you download it to your smartphone (works with Apple too) and then when walking around the site, look for numbers on doors. Play the number on your guide and voila. All in all, a lot to see and interesting place too For hungry travellers they offer soup and sausages and some other stuff to eat, we didn't buy any, but so you know.

Read moreA small but very interesting museum with a homemade feel and a lot of unique material from different time periods. The exhibition covers the history of coastal defence with a mix of objects, models, photos, and videos. Almost all the texts are only in Polish, and only a few videos are available in English, which makes it harder to follow everything in detail.
Still, I learned new things – for example, that the massive Adolf guns from Marine Küstenbatterie Lindemann in Normandy were originally located here before being moved. Definitely worth a visit if you're into military history and...

Now, thanks to activities undertaken by Defence Museum, all belongings and reminiscent that was in good shape, are well kept and preserved by the museum. Thank you.
