I stumbled upon this by accident while searching for the Fort VII site, but this free museum is a must visit if you are in the Poznań area. A historical prison and labour camp (the neighbouring autobahn a living testament to this as well), where thousands of Poles and Jews suffered under the Nazis; but also a tribute to the many, many such camps that have long been obliterated and forgotten. It is a living excavation site too, and there has been a lot of archaeological and historical work to put together the story and memory of this place. I was met by a guide who is also an active historian, his passion for the work is evident and he kindly gave me additional resources that I will definitely use to learn more.
