So we had the wild idea, we wanted to visit a local winery. From thought to action is just one step, so we called around 9 o'clock and asked about the daily tours. The office was not sure that a tour was taking off in the morning, so they said they would talk to the guide to see if anything was in the pipe. We set out as we had another thing to do on the way. En route the phone calls and the guide told us, that she could do us a tour at 11 (normal tours are at 10:30) because she needed to prepare a few things. We said fab! Their antique distillery room was a highlight for me. This was our first stop on a short road trip outside of Lisbon and I would enthusiastically recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Portuguese winery experience. The wines were delicious and their bottle prices are astoundingly low from the perspective of Americans. Also try their brandy - it's...
