Read moreAn easy flat walk alongside the levada. It is officially the PR6.2 route. 3.5km out and return the same route. A nice waterfall and pool at the end, with a couple of nice views along the route. However 90% of the walk is under the canopy, so it is pretty monotonous and even though it was a sunny day, it was chilly. Probably not an issue in summer! You can make it a circular walk by mixing it in with the other trails, but then expect some elevation change. Parking was very busy. We were there in January and had to park alongside the road. Read moreThe trail starts at the same spot as Levada das 25 fontes but quickly departs to the right. We followed the levada until the end (with a nice but small waterfall), then turned back and followed the signs towards Lagoa do Vento. This was the highlight of the trip, a big waterfall with a pond. We then walked back and followed the signs towards Casa do Rabacal, from which we took a bus to avoid the boring walk back along the paved road.
Overall this took about 3 hours, very easy to find and well maintained course but somewhat slippery...
