Arrived around 4:10pm with the knowledge that the museum would be closing today at 5:30pm. No one was at the front desk but eventually the friendly staff person came out to say she had just started giving a tour and let us know we could join but that we would miss some information. We had hoped it would be a self guided museum but it seems that there are guided tours only. I'm not sure of the time frames of the tours but the woman said that it would be the last one she did that day - so I suggest go earlier that 4:10pm on a Saturday. The information was interesting and lots of artifacts and pictures. Unfortunately there is a lot of standing, they did have a chair for my grandmother to sit but she didn't feel that she could stay the whole time. Read moreOur visit to the Cheese Museum today was an absolute delight from start to finish. The guide (I believe to be called Ms Paula) was not only informative but also incredibly fun, knowledgeable, and has made the entire experience absolutely fascinating.
The cheese tasting at the end was a highlight. An unexpected and heartwarming gesture from a fellow participant, whom without knowing anyone, generously shared a bottle of wine with all the guests has turned the visit into a truly unforgettable experience. Thanks to Filipe and his wife!
